Got a full page letter Monday from the new bishop. What pushy people!
I guess they have to try and get me going somewhere. I have told enough people I am not and will not drive 15 miles to church.

They are starting to honk me off. I am not a sheeple!

I have been mulling over a grand exit speech. I will go on F&T Sunday, bare my testimony of ALL the new info I have run into and see how long it takes them to get me off the stand. I will have it all written down so as to not forget a THING! I will give them both barrels. I will tell them what blind sheep we all are that we never question what the h is going on?

Wow you are brave cutekitty, I don't know if they will listen to you because TBM's brains are usually programmed to not listening to anything against the cult.
But I wish you good luck with it.

You're going to go out with aplomb!

Brace for the "turn off the mike" act, and the tap on your shoulder that your testimony time has come to an end.

They'll continue on as though nothing has happened, it will be business as usual again until the next defector. They're so brainwashed, and very fearful to openly question any part of Mormonism for fear of being shunned.

If you're up to that more power to you. There will be some who will take notice even as they sit there stone faced and silent.

Aplomb- what a great word! And, yes, indeed I am.

I know too much now I can't unlearn. It felt like pornography to my eyes how bad it hurt reading all I have seen and heard from ex-mos all over. Just crushing my spirit with damming evidence I have been living a LIE! It makes me feel real hollow with no substance to believe in other than me!

I know too much as well but i had to know the truth. Something was not right about it all and i could never figure out what was wrong for the longest time. I even thought they were right and i was really the screwed up one but it was backwards i had religious ptsd from being brought up in the church. The churches teachings were screwed up and they mess with the mind.

I wouldn't drive 15 miles to go to church either if one was much closer. That's absurd.

I wouldn't drive 15 feet to church :)

Honestly, the only response I would give is, "I'm not driving 15 miles to go to church." The Morg thinks nothing of shoving the members around like pawns on a chess board.

Stay home and write your exit letter to the cult. Send it now. Don't bother telling them off because your words will fall to the ground. Their ears are full of wax. Yell at your pillow instead to release your fury. Stay away.

There may be a couple more sequels of beached-fish-flapping on your front porch, but basically, you're done with them.

my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

In the best Savannah style, that would be bad press for the Morg (well really it will only show how the Morg treat the people who don't think the same as them).

You are going to have about 15 to 20 seconds to get it out. You have to have a real zinger of a sentence or two to make the impact.

If you have a line that is as clever as it is loaded with class and then you leave before the Bishop can give you the "bum's rush," you will probably always be glad you did it.

Otherwise . . . you might just give people fodder for their testimonies next month.

Good luck. I know you are having a rough time and I wish you the best, but in the meantime you are giving me a lot of fun.

Cutekitty, I dub you "Bravekitty"! Make those 20-30 seconds count; I'll bet it will make some in the audience think and do a little research because not everyone is a dutiful little TBM. A lot of them wear masks. When you're done, walk out of there with your head held high.

Bravekitty might be the new leader around here if she pulls this off, i still havent had the guts to do something like this although i wanted to to get my tithing back. I want to know if cutekitty lives in idaho or close to it i might go to show my support.

Badass, I am in Indiana.

Good thing you didn't take me up on my offer to get away from your dad. You probably wouldn't like it here. It's flat country here.

I have another plan... My niece from KY, who I haven't heard from in over a year, moved to Colorado!-- Grand Junction. They are buying a little place and she has invited me out to stay. So, (this is going to take some careful planning, but) after I bear my testimony one last time, when I exit the building, get in my vehicle and leave town for CO!!!!!!! I have a big house of things to part with- furniture, appliances, garden tools...then I will go live in their backyard, under the stars, in a tent if I have to?!!!!!

This will take some careful planning in a hurry. I can't take this cooped up anger inside much longer...leaving town for a new frontier will be good for my soul...

Maybe I could just send everybody an e-mail, then send it out in a mass mailing b4 I go? I'm going somewhere else for sure. I think this is the best idea. Trim down on material objects, keep what I need.............

Glad my brain/ imagination hasn't shut down?

I like your style cutekitty i like your style. I drove through indiana once on the way to new york and it was pretty flat which isnt bad i think i remembered having to pay a toll to drive on the freeway and that was pretty bullsh#t haha. I worked in colorado close to denver and it was pretty nice i think you will like it there. Never been there in the winter though, idaho winters suck big time i am not looking forward to another winter.

I think i have heard of it. I think i have a friend that lives there. His name is T.J. Peterson, if you cross anybody that is 34 years old with that name tell him hi for me. Just tell him adam from high school says whats up. But you most likely wont run into him.

Indeed, the trick is to get something out that sounds like you're about to praise Joe Smith, for example, then before the bishop knows it, you've given the damning info but in F&T fashion. It will go right most people's heads but you might bend a few shelves before the mic gets cut. Then you can just leave and go get donuts.....

Done,

I was a teacher at a high school here for 12 years...I can project my voice quite well...no need for a mic....They will have to help me off the stand!!!!

Hooooly sh#t cutekitty is really going to do it. Maybe i will do the same thing at a fast n testimony meeting to get my tithing back, i know some of the people in the ward look up to me too, it could be really effective. Man i am getting more courage as we speak.

If you want more time, start out talking glowingly about love and goodness and all the things that a church SHOULD be, and then flip it around and say something to the effect of "I'm leaving because we're none of those things." Get out some good counter-examples while you let them believe you're talking about TSCC, until you flip it around and make it clear that you're not!

Write out your resignation letter, and when the bishop gives you the bums rush just hand it to him. You can loudly tell him what it is on your way out.

Options: ReplyQuote
Posted by: badassadam ( )

And say in the microphone i am giving the bishop my resignation letter. It will give more people courage and power to actually know that you CAN resign.

I'd do the whole " testimony " speech in reverse. Everyone does the exact same obligatory testimony. " I'd like to give my testimony that this is a false, lying church, Joseph Smith was a false prophet, who liked ( name all of his vice and perversions), the BOM was not the inspired word of God, but copied from other sources, he was never visited by angels, etc
Then you can say they wanted you back in church and wouldn't leave you alone, so you came.

Too late for me to do what you are contemplating, but if I did . . .

"Brothers and Sisters, I am in awe of Joseph Smith that he could start such a grand church with only his favorite treasure hunting seer stone in a hat. However, I'm not in awe enough to stick around anymore. In the name of integrity, Amen."

Ok, I will be the dissenter, I would not go to Sunday services and I wouldn't say a thing, just resign. The TBMs don't get it and will just look at you like your crazy. In the long run, I found its easier just to disengage from Mormons.

moehoward,

I am crazy. Can't you tell? My world as I knew it ended in June. I have been SO upset, every dam day, from reading more and more damming evidence of what a FOOL I have been most of 2/3's of my life! That is a lot of wasted time being celibate, paying 10% of my meager income to TSCC.......I'm nuts alrite!

I am nuts too cutekitty from it all and it is ok. I dont want to lay down dead for the rest of my life because of their parade. Sure your speech will have no impact because they are all brain dead but maybe it will. Maybe you will start something and the house of cards crumbles from it. I dont underestimate anybody these days you can only be suppressed for so long until you snap back.

cutekitty,

With all due respect, I don't think your crazy (any more than the rest of us). I understand what you are going through but the TBMs won't get it. The first thing on your list should be practicing being non-celibate.

We can't determine what's a waste for someone else. Only mormons have to answer time constraints because church duties mean their time is not their own.

------

badassadam, this has been said to you before: NO WAY will you ever get any tithing back!!! Get that out of your head.
DID YOU GET THAT??---It ain't ever gonna happen. Tithing paid isn't a savings plan from which you can withdraw at will.

Instead, start a plan that will get you on your feet so you can (eventually) support yourself. I hate to be so blunt, but you need to work and concentrate on growing-up--and start by getting a job (or, part-time school, and part-time work). Find a room mate (or two-three rm mates, to share expenses).

Good luck.

What did the letter say? Was it a "love bomb" or more of a "repent" type letter? If you don't mind, sharing, of course!

Whatever you decide to do, I hope it goes well for you! This too shall pass, as the saying goes. I've been out for about a decade now, and I'm still glad I jumped off the crazy train.

The letter was neutral. He introduced himself, said they missed me and as fellow servants of Christ, would like to share in the joys and sorrows of my life, invited me out to church, let me know the times, the address of the building, the leaders' names, told me about conference times, he even announced to me that there 'will be no regular church meeting on Sunday, Sept. 31.'

He said if nobody recognizes me to introduce myself so somebody.

Good, I wasn't going on the not-the-last day of Sept. anyway ! (OCTOBER 1st, dumass!)

He went on about singles conferences and where, special events, a ward RS activity and addition to all the fun activities I am not attending (get this)... I 'may enjoy uplifting videos at lds.org or mormons.org'...............It was a full page of fluff like he is enticing me to come to church sometime and get to know everybody. It is a ward already established I was thrown into. I would be the new kid on the block.

I've seen all the mormon videos I care to last ME a lifetime----EX-MO videos!!!
