I read on another post it has, if so it is strange because I would have thought it would be the high point of the temple ritual, after all one is being "admitted into the presence of the Lord."

They removed the five points of fellowship in 1990, when they removed the ritual death threats "penalties" (through mutilation of your body as a means of murdering you if you ever reveal the secret handshakes).

I heard that Joseph Smith first introduced 6 points of fellowship but it was reduced to 5 points after his death.

No, it wasn't (reduced to 5).
Stories abound from young woman temple-goers who got all 6 points of fellowship through the veil. Horny Joe's legacy continued unabated.
