Robert Hales and the Q12 (or Q15)

I just remembered that they lost an Apostle back in October and I was wondering if they got around to replacing him yet? I hadn't heard anything but I thought I might've missed it or something. Will they wait til the April conference?

They don't have to wait until April conference, but it does appear likely that it will happen at April conference because there doesn't appear to be any sense of urgency in doing so at this point before then.

Isn't it Monson who makes the pick? Perhaps he is too incapacitated right now to make one. I'm sure there are power issues as play as well as to who to let in to the elite 12.

No, the apostle has not yet been replaced. The thinking is that the church leadership will wait until the spring conference to make the announcement, but no one knows for sure.

They normally wait until the next conference to replace a GA, although there have been exceptions to that policy

i wonder if the pot of money is shrinking so the size of the Q12 will shrink? Apostles are not cheap to maintain.

No. They see it as scriptural/doctrinal that there be 12 apostles
