Reality is the true state of things as they are, not our interpretation of things. I suppose each individual has their own perception of reality which I assume is their truth. Our beliefs are often mistaken and require constant reevaluation and assessing new information.
I would say reality is based on what you hear, read, see, feel, and 'experience' in anyway and how you interpret those experiences.
There is only one true reality!
However, all/many(?) view of reality is different based on what they experience and how they interpret it.
This is actually ok in the short term.
Hopefully, peoples' realities will continue to converge in the longer term through things such as 'science, research, internet, etc.' as more people are exposed to similar experiences and 'similar experiences' can be clearly interpreted/explained.

I like this spiritist, I like to think that most of us here are truth seekers and realize that there is one truth (Mormonism isn't it) and the truth matters. As we find those truths hopefully we can enlighten each other and eventually unite in oneness of purpose. I know I am idealistic but nothing was ever accomplished without a vision and hope. The world truly lies in darkness and I don't believe religion will ever provide the answers we need.
I like these definitions, because "reality" is not necessarily determined by what the group sees, by majority vote. Look At The the deluded group who believe in Joseph Smith, or who voted for Trump.
I would agree, although I think it started earlier than 2017.
As others have stated, reality is what really is, as opposed to our own perception of it, our interpretation of it, or idealized version of it.
The problem with reality in 2017 is more dire as it has devolved into man's distortion of reality, which is what is currently an acceptable practice as it aids the agendas of those who wish to control--especially those in the arenas of the rich, the political, and the religious.
If some leader wants everyone to see his selfish interpretation of reality as the true reality, then his followers may support his agenda because they perceive that they may benefit in some way and that small gain becomes their only focus as they lose sight of the big picture---reality stripped down: Like realizing the earth revolves around the sun and not vice versa as it appears.
