First it was "Ode to Billy Joe", and now "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia"!
I'm losing my mind!
What's next? Glenn Campbell and Harry Chapin?

before you go to sleep each night. It's a great shower song to. It's always important to remind yourself how great it is to live at a time when there is a living chihuahua on earth to guide us in these latter days.

I got one stuck this weekend that led me almost to the point of rage. "O, Say What is Truth." It was always one of my favorites. I loved the exaltation of truth and honor.

My TBM older sister is taking Institute classes. I guess old people not in college can do that. She has been taking Church History types of classes. She remarked a while back on what she sees as my extensive knowledge and asked where it came from. Study. Then she wanted to know if I still had the books now that I was out as she thought one of the men in her class might like to buy them. Over the weekend I pulled the books out of storage and worked on typing up a list. Some of the books are standard history, like the seven volume set. Some are alternative viewpoints.

I don't foresee ever wanting to use them again. After all, I should be getting over this whole mess. I began to worry about what would happen to the alternative view points. I could see a book burning on the horizon. I may not want the books any more, but should volumes of truth be destroyed. This is what led to my contemplation of "truth". I became angry because of the change in modom from veneration of absolute truth to the veneration of the situation truth promulgated by the current guru, screw you, that leads them. I think if I don't get an offer I like, I will just dumpster them. Then I can get beyond the current song running through my head and lay my rage to rest.

How something from Three Dog Night instead. Like maybe, "I Must Let the Show Go On"?

You know, the one about Jan-Michael Vincent as a hippie drafted into the Marines during Vietnam.
The song is by Marty Cooper, but I can't find the lyrics anywhere. I think Harry Chapin sang it.
All I can remember is "Tribes are gathering, tribes are gathering", and "God will forgive each lonely soldier for what he is and what he does".

That is almost as bad as one of the worst songs EVER: Honey by Bobby Goldsboro.

"The first day that she planted it, was just a twig..." Auuuggggh. Kill it with rocks.

I always get stupid songs that I hate stuck in my head.
"Sharin' the Night Together", Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show.
"Blinded by the Light", Manfred Mann.
"Dream Weaver".
Any ballad by Foreigner, but especially "I Want to Know What Love is".
Or how about TV commercial songs?
Campbell's Soup, "Possibilties".
My latest brain scrambler, "Cripple Creek", by The Band.

Talk about sick and twisted... "I will be your father figure, put your tiny hand in mine, I will be the one who lovesyou, till the end of time..."

Gag. Retch. Barf.

SECOND worst is that song I don't know the name that goes oh, where oh where can my baby be, the Lord took her away from me!!

Ick! Puke!

Are you thinking of "Last Kiss?" Pearl Jam did a remake in the 1990's. Not sure who did the original.

It's a small world

I forgot to add:
I've got a brand new pair of roller skates. You've got a brand new key.

Season in the Sun by Terry Jacks?

I had a song stuck in my head for about 3 weeks recently. Luckily it's a pretty good song, but after day 3 I was about to go bonkers. Open it if you dare:

we had seasons in the sun,
But my song didn't sell at all,
so now I work in the mall.."

Have you seen that frightening commercial with Eddie Money singing "Two Tickets to Paradise," his lips curled up in a sidelong sneer and his peepers bulging like goldfish eyes?

Waiting so long...
