Wow, I haven’t thought of him for years, but in my late teens and early adulthood I was a big fan of his films. What a good, long and adventurous life he had!
What a great guy. I was fortunate enough to make a few runs with his son Kurt at Alpines Meadows. I remember lining up to get tickets to the annual Warren Miller movie every year. What a great way to live-travelling the globe to ski anywhere. RIP Warren Miller.
Back in my undergraduate days, our school would have a screening of his latest film just as ski season was warming up. It used to whip us into a frenzy. RIP, Warren.
Yes, but unfortunately it's becoming a "job that Americans don't want to do". Most of the lifties at Utah resorts come from Australia, New Zealand or South America.
I didn't know that- which led me to Google this. I love the astronaut blip and # 11, "No one is ever too old to do something really dumb". What a guy, who squeezed every bit out of life for 93 years.
Going to the annual Miller ski movie in the 70s and 80s brings back great memories. They seemed to hit Salt Lake City just prior to the Labor Day ski sales at Wolfe's Sporting Goods stores. Highland High School was usually the only place in the valley for the one night only viewing. My first ever driving date was a Warren Miller movie.
