I can't find this article in the online SLTrib but in the print edition this morning it was announced these three centers closing. The reason given-the best use of the church's resources as well as the needs and demands of each area.

My mother went on a senior mission back in 1989 and spent most of her time in the London center, doing what they called the "find my sheep" program.

Maybe all the sheep are found or people don't care enough to spend all that time researching anymore? I just thought it was an interesting development.

That's good to know. I stopped in there a few years ago (to experience 5 minutes of nothing) on the way to some local breweries and distilleries.

I had a Polygamy Porter (yes, only one) but it wasn't very good and so I tried others.

I remember the Park City genealogy center was part of LD$ Inc.'s strategy to attract investigators during the 2002 Olympics. Just like Mitt's "Mormon moment" presidential run where LD$ Inc. thought it could market itself as a religion and not a cult, the genealogy center went away.

Having the center on Main Street in Park City had to have been pricey rental space.

Pricy?

Do they care?

Look who's paying for it!
