We had a lady in our ward who had this happen to her. It was very difficult and I feel bad that so little was understood about it at the time. She chalked it up to her needing to do her genealogy and a sign from god. Very sad for her as she suffered a lot from it.
Wow. I hadn't heard of this. It sounds too fantastic. Now I won't sleep for fear of waking up with a Utah vocabulary, which I know well. Or worse, a southern Utah accent!
Ha ha ha...my mother started in with that "Dixie" accent shortly after moving there. She grew up in Ohio and Oregon, but a couple months after moving to St. George she left my brother a phone message: "Thank yew for th' rest'raunt gift card. We were fixin' to go to that place."
I have wondered whether this is proof of past lives also.
However, I could not find any 'creditable evidence to me' that any have been regressed to identify a past life in the foreign language they speak.
I guess we will have to be satisfied with the 'past life regressions' that have been documented and other 'anecdotal past lives documented' to support 'reincarnation'.
I have had my own past life recall experience and it seemed very real to me but it didn't involve 'hearing' any specific language as it was visual only.
