One of the things I like about the TV show Stranger Things, is it reminds me of my childhood in the 70's. Kids hanging out w/kids. Didn't matter if the kids were black, mexican, asian, or even girls...if they liked doing boy stuff, like riding bikes, and climbing trees.
Black Panther — father willing to die for his family and country.
White nationalist — father willing to send his son to the bar for cigarettes and a beer.
Advantage — Black Panther -------------------------------- -Mother Figure
Black Panther — warrior mother willing to fight for her king.
White nationalist — toothless mother yelling, “Bobby Joe, if you don’t skin that possum there ain’t gonna be no dinner.”
Advantage — Black Panther --------------------------------- -Sister
Black Panther — Sister makes secret weapons and has your back in a fight.
White nationalist — sister willing to make babies with you.
Advantage — neither, while I highly value a kick-butt sister, I’m sure that white nationalists place an equal value in the whole baby making thing. --------------------------------- -Flying super craft
Black Panther — and it can turn invisible.
White nationalist — well, they can fly after a six-pack, and they can make that six pack disappear real fast.
Advantage — Black Panther -------------------------------- -Gadgets
Black Panther — glow in the dark bracelets that impart super-powers.
White nationalists — … tiki torches!
Advantage — Black Panther"

There should be nothing controversial about the Black Panther movie. I am a white guy and almost wouldn't have even noticed that the heroes were all black, if not for the name of the movie. I give the movie very high ratings and hope there is a sequil.
The Marvel audiences are getting wise. After the movie ended, only a fee people left their seats. Almost everyone knows to wait until the end of the credits, to see all of the easter eggs.
I was neutral on the subject of seeing it, but after reading R. Ebert's review, I am really, really interested in soaking up the atmosphere!
I do so enjoy the thought of bigots sitting around, stewing in their own juices! The liquid boils away and the hate forms a smarmy mass that they lug around with them, so focused on it that they miss out on all the joys that there for the sampling and sharing.
Dammit! Now I have carve some time out of my ever so busy retirement life to make the time to take her!
Sure, it's probably a decent movie, but don't I already know before I walk into the theater, generally speaking, that good is going to triumph over evil?
Only racists have a problem with Black Panther, as for Mormons, Marvel is a Disney owned company, so they can see this as it's not R rated. I'm planning to see it soon, as I'm a Marvel comics fan and it's a great way to escape for a couple of hours at least.
"Disney is now estimating a massive $235 million opening weekend for the film (and that’s just the domestic box office; early estimates predict at least another $169 million overseas)."
... that they claim it is the first film with a black superhero? Not by a longshot. "Hancock" for exsmple was made years sgo, then there's "Blade" even further back.
