Another question: do they realize the whole world is laughing at them, while weeping for their dead?

I don't get what they think declaring p()rn and public health hazard is going to accomplish. What are they going to do, send out the national guard to keep people from jerking off in their own homes?

Funny how priorities are so easily confused.

Also, I have a question for you, koriwhore. You posted a few years ago about Jack LoHolt's scandal in the Kent 2nd Ward. You referenced a friend of yours whose bishop father never reported the abuse, and who works for Mormons, married a Mormon, and has 5 Mormon kids. I'm fairly certain you're referencing my father there, and if not, I'm positive you at least knew him. Is there a way for me to contact you to ask more questions about this?

There's no email attached to your account that I can send to. But if you're who I think you might be, I could message you on FB? If you're who I'm thinking, there's a much-loved story we tell frequently that features you participating in my older brother's baby blessing (he wouldn't stop screaming until you intervened).

Absolutely. Did you grow up in K2 Ward in the 70's? I don't remember the screaming baby intervention, but it always seemed odd to me that men just ignored the babies screaming and just tried to say the blessing over his objections, rather than doing anything to placate the baby.

Oh, maybe one of us is misunderstanding. My father grew up in K2 Ward in the 70s. I'm the daughter of one of LoHolt's victims.

Also, so sorry to hijack this thread!

Oh. I hope he got filthy rich because of what he suffered.
Feel free to contact me any time. I'd love to hear your story and your Dad's. Is he still Mormon? Or ExMo?
And was his Dad an Oral Surgeon?

I'm actually not sure whether my dad or his brother ever made any money off the lawsuit, but I do know that they filed anonymously because my grandpa would have disowned them otherwise. Grandpa wasn't an oral surgeon, but I think he probably knew about the abuse while it was happening. Dad is still Mormon, albeit an unconventional one (never served a mission, opted for the Navy instead). Married my mom, had five kids, lived in Idaho for a long time, but he's back in Washington. I wonder if you knew him!

He was my best friend, up until the shitstorm involving him and our other friends getting abused by LaHolt. He was in a tough spot. You're right. His parents would have disowned him and his brother for speaking out about the abuse they suffered. Which I thought was totally unjust and sick and twisted.
Had to distance myself from him when it became clear to me that we didnt see eye to eye on the whole Mormon abuse thing. He didnt appreciate our mutual friend sticking it to LDS Inc to the tune if millions.
Its for him and tge others who have been silenced that I speak up and refuse to be silent, until kids are no longer being raped in the abusive doomsday CULT of Joseph's Myth.
So are you his daughter or son?
We may have met.

I appreciate your advocacy for my father and others like him who can't or won't defend themselves. I'm his oldest daughter, and I'm certain we've met. I feel like I grew up on stories of Dad and "Uncle" S.

Wow. Yes we've met. I knew you well.
I wish I could have been a more involved "Uncle" but abuse, cover ups, scandals, lies, has a way of throwing a monkey wrench into relationships. The good news is its not too late.
Glad you found your way out, although with your family, probably tougher than most to cut ties.
I will find you and reach out on FB.
I hope all is well otherwise.

You're right, my family is still incredibly tight-knit, despite the fact that my older brother is really the only active child left. I look forward to catching up. Sorry again for jacking your thread.

No Problem.
Glad to hear your family is still tight knit, despite the damage the church does to relationships when family members do the math and figure out their bogus claims don't add up. It did a hell of a lot of damage to my relationships. I find it tougher and tougher to maintain respect for anybody who teaches their kids to sing the praises of Joseph's Myth, knowing he had his way with he follower's wives and teenage daughters. I have a theory that ignoring reality leads to the kind of abuse I've witnessed being covered up time and time again in the Mormon church. Way too many times for me to remain silent about it.

The teachers are being killed in the schools as well. Teachers with concealed carry permits should be able to carry in their schools just like they do everywhere else.

Why doesnt anyone address the adults in the line of fire and how they could protect their schools!?

Maybe guys in Florida shoot harder than the rest of us. Bad aim could put someone’s eye out.

and being unprepared gets dozens of people killed. That is what happened in Florida. The FBI didnt do their job. They should have noticed that a person who was considered mentally ill and violent had bought guns. The teachers didnt try to stop an obviously violent disturbed student by getting him the help he needed.

The teachers are the last line of defense for their students. The teachers deserve the right to protect themselves at their work since this has become a problem.

But the school’s safety officer was armed and trained. He just wasn’t willing to risk getting shot. You don’t know what a guy will do until it happens.

The Pulse Nightclub had an armed security guard. The Vegas shooter was surrounded by armed security. The Fort Hood military base shooter was surrounded by armed officers. None of that made any difference. Arming teachers isn't likely to be more effective than the security in Vegas.

so we just disarm the victims and hope the shooters run out of bullets huh. Amazing. Dont give the adults the chance to defend themselves. They have every reason to shoot the person who is trying to kill them! The security guard wasnt in the line of fire!

If a guy busted into their class room with a gun then they wouldnt have any other choice! Your lack of logical thinking is amazing!

There are other options. Lots of other countries have taken measure that don't involve banning all guns and don't involve arming all citizens and teachers. And they have greatly reduced such crimes. It's practically unheard of in Japan, for example. And they have mentally ill people just as we do.

Israel had to deal with school attacks from terrorists until they armed their teachers and now they dont.

I didnt say arm all the teachers either. I said give them a fighting chance be giving them the option to survive instead of just standing there. You are simply disarming people who could have done something and think that is a solution. You are backwards.

Statistics show that if you introduce fire arms into an environment, accidents go up. It's also not a given that if a person has a gun and is trained that they will confront and kill an attack. Teachers aren't soldiers. But they are human and subject to making mistakes with firearms. There are 3.6 million teachers.

So does Oz, which banned guns after tgeir 1st mass murder in Tax.
They said, "Gig's up mates! Bring all your guns to the park at 7an and we'll hunt down the bastard who holds out on us.
Since then only defense forces have guns.

Not exactly true.

A person who possesses or uses a firearm must have a firearm licence. Licence holders must demonstrate a "genuine reason" for holding a firearm licence and must not be a "prohibited person". All firearms in Australia must be registered by serial number to the owner, who also holds a firearms licence.

aka, intelligent gun regulation.
here, in the US, anything but intelligent regulation.
Any idiot terrorist genocidal psychopath has a right to carry a weapon of war with impunity, right up to the edge of a school yard. If we were intelligent we'd put security cameras up about a mile perimeter around every school and we'd see a guy coming with an AK 47 from a mile away and we'd send a drone swarm after him and eliminate the threat.
Anybody who comes w/in 100 yards of a school with an AK47 deserves to be lobotomized by drone swarms with lasers.
