Whoever gave the opening prayer for the Saturday AM session

The guy seemed out of it, like he was either going to burst into tears or possibly keel over and die right there on the spot. He said something I didn't understand about "praying especially for those whose hands hang down." Does that expression have some meaning in LDS culture of which I'm not aware? I had no idea what he was talking about.

The Lord has commanded us to “succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees” (D&C 81:5).

You know. All the things the Mormon church never does but make a lovely thing to say in prayers.

I was thinking he was praying for those who refused to raise their hand to the square to sustain whatever the hell they're doing this time.

It's a euphemism for "the depressed." He should have just said, "Bless all the depressed."

It means weak, old, depressed, or tired. Comes from OT and repeated in D&C. Moses was so tired and old that they had to left his hands for him to do his preisthood magic. Help those types.
