Maybe I'll see you in the canyons, Jimbo. I'll be the woman smiling with the black lab, who also smiles at everyone. I'm so happy here, that I decided to stay local, too. My family and friends are all here, and I don't want to travel alone.
We have family traditions, every summer.
--Park City (Park Silly farmer's market).
--Midway for a ride on the Heber Creeper with family
--Guardsman's Pass is the best way to go.
--Mountain biking at Sundance, and a picnic by the Provo River, at Upper Falls
--My DIL's family cabin at Brighton, a walk around Silver Lake, and hikes to Mary's Lake, etc.
--My extended family's cabin in Lamb's canyon--roasting hotdogs and s'mores in the fire pit.
--Water skiing and wake boarding at Jordanelle with the cousins
--Riding horses
--Lagoon
--At least one concert
--Baseball and wading pools in the back yard
--Back yard barbecues (with sangria, now we're not Mormons)
--Birthday parties, Memorial Day flowers, July 4th fireworks.
--Swimming, and swimming and diving lessons for the kids
--Reading in the air-conditioned house, alone, because I need a break from the heat, activity, and noise. Lawn mowers, diggers, construction equipment runs until 10:00 at night, sometimes. I would recommend reading, or a nap, for those who have the opposite of SAD. You know who you are. Summer can cause "sensory overload", especially with the long days. Still, summer is our favorite season--if it doesn't kill us.
