Unlike Summertimes-While-Mormon, what will you do differently as a free person or family?

My family will visit Mark Hoffman, thanks to a relative at the Prison in which he serves.

We just might go to The Bahamas with ex-Brother John Dehlin, too.

I will enjoy being garment-free, wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts and sleeveless dresses, as the humidity where I am can get icky.

That aside, I hope to go to a lavender festival in Frederick come June. In August I will be going to an Aneurysm and AVM survivor retreat it Manitou Springs, Colorado. I'm excited about that as I hae never been to Colorado. I'm looking forward to seeing those mountains, and my fellow survivors. <3 :-)

Manitou Springs is my jam! I didn't realize how much I missed that area until you mentioned it. If your health allows, I'd look into driving or taking the train to the summit of Pikes Peak; it is an unbelievable experience.
Be sure to give the entire a town a big, metaphorical hug for me!

Air-conditioning. We get a hot summer here in North California. I'm glad I have working air in both cars and my house.

Going camping to several trap shoots around Alberta and maybe into Montana. At the end of summer I'll head for Vancouver Island.

I'm an American working single divorced mother, and I get only two weeks. My children get only two weeks, also, and have chosen to go to the California beach town, where they were born and raised. My children and grandchildren live close by, and we see each other every day, so I want them to have a vacation by themselves.

I can't decide what to do:

1) Go to my high school reunion, near San Francisco, rent a car, and drive to Carmel and Monterey. Very expensive.

2) Go to the extended-family's cabin in Montana, which is beautiful, peaceful, on the edge of wilderness. The cost would be only for the gas.

Maybe I'll see you in the canyons, Jimbo. I'll be the woman smiling with the black lab, who also smiles at everyone. I'm so happy here, that I decided to stay local, too. My family and friends are all here, and I don't want to travel alone.

We have family traditions, every summer.

--Park City (Park Silly farmer's market).
--Midway for a ride on the Heber Creeper with family
--Guardsman's Pass is the best way to go.
--Mountain biking at Sundance, and a picnic by the Provo River, at Upper Falls
--My DIL's family cabin at Brighton, a walk around Silver Lake, and hikes to Mary's Lake, etc.
--My extended family's cabin in Lamb's canyon--roasting hotdogs and s'mores in the fire pit.
--Water skiing and wake boarding at Jordanelle with the cousins
--Riding horses
--Lagoon
--At least one concert
--Baseball and wading pools in the back yard
--Back yard barbecues (with sangria, now we're not Mormons)
--Birthday parties, Memorial Day flowers, July 4th fireworks.
--Swimming, and swimming and diving lessons for the kids

--Reading in the air-conditioned house, alone, because I need a break from the heat, activity, and noise. Lawn mowers, diggers, construction equipment runs until 10:00 at night, sometimes. I would recommend reading, or a nap, for those who have the opposite of SAD. You know who you are. Summer can cause "sensory overload", especially with the long days. Still, summer is our favorite season--if it doesn't kill us.

What I always do in the summer - exercising in the mornings and lying around on the shady part of the deck in the afternoon, reading books and sipping peach beverages.

*Grin* :D

I use my summer to rest and relax. I do projects around the house in the morning and read or go out in the afternoon. I go to the pool at my brother's marina if the weather is agreeable. I like to do day trips, but I have to schedule around the Maryland heat, so that isn't always possible. I usually hit an outdoor concert or two.

If I'm lucky, I'll get an invite to a friend's beach rental for a few days.

I really feel like I'm dragging right now, so summer can't come soon enough for Summer. :)

This summer, I will probably be recovering from having my hip replace. But it will still be better than dealing with Mormon church.

I will indulge myself in capturing raw images on my Canon T5i and compiling them into fine art renditions of the pictures that I want them to be.
If anyone wants to see my gallery I herein give admin license to give you my email by individual request.

B

Pick flowers
Put them in my hair
Plant seeds
Air my dairy air
Go everywhere
Or somewhere
Or nowhere

Okay sew...
'Proetry' (Prose + Poetry)
Is my thing-
It's how why sing.
I right, BUT,
I left too.
EYE CENTER
So I'll be editing...
Gathering ideas, experiences
Avoiding public (hair) appearances
Have vacatious disappearances
Hopefully hiking, sailing,
Disappearing up or down a trail
Without fail
Forget Things
Remember Things
Work on things
Play on things

Write nomadic songs
Wear triadic thongs
Try to do no wrongs {AND, yes, you guessed it! If not, ha ha}
Hit gigantic bongs

I'll field new fields
And philosophy fool feel
I'll get stronger,
Leaner and longer
I'll ignore ignorance-
But not incense-
I'll even dance
Fancy pants

I'll speak of incredible things
And mostly not say a thing
But good day and hello and high
I'll try to concentrate and concentrates
I'll open up when it's warranted
It's still hard to catch the spirit
And then you have to close it
What a deal!

I'll be more serious or delirious
More sarcastic, monastic and bombastic
Do more and do better, I do doo!
Give more and get more-awards.
Deepen the connections
Experience the reflections
Apply more protections
Let go of expectations

I may even talk to the morMons.
Doubtful though-
They don't listen.
Don't seek truth.
Though I don't profit,
I am a prophet.
I only lead the lovers.
The losers are on their own!

I'm on the phone.
Oh, it's you! Hey.
RFM, what a friend-
Hope it'll never end.
It's the caller-
Doesn't cost a dollar.
You just have to holler.
Out of shouting/ shooting range?
I'm on the range or at the Grange

It's strange
I may be here
Having a beer
But not today
Here I lay
Got work to do
Chores and mores
Yet still I play

What a day!

I call it rest. It's my only test? Can you do it? Stay awake. It's the name of the game. There's are no rules. It's not a game.

What's your name?

M@t

P.S. What are you doing today?

A rather hard winter this year.

This summer I will drink more fruity, girly drinks under the sun.

I promise.

I will be running a free food program for low income kids so they won't starve while school is out.
Bible School in June.
Canning.
Hopefully will be able to grab some pool time.

I'm taking my daughter (17 years old) to Japan.
She's a terrific artist, and "manga"-style fan, and has always wanted to go there. Since I lived there for a year, and have gone back numerous times for business, I'm pretty comfortable there.

So end of June we're going for two weeks to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

:)
