I think it might have worked. We shall know for sure after the surgical pain subsides. Thanks again for the support. Having a roommate to help is awesome as well. Way smoother than previous surgeries

Similar surgery to yours recently, I am still not 100 percent on mobility and confidence in the joint. Lot's of weakness and discomfort, a lack of balance, and proprioception. The doctor assessed that I was weak due to lack of recovery. Whatever.

Which means that he did the best he could with the insurance money he was given. All you Bernie Sanders haters out there listen to a voice of reason. Whether you think you should pay for my surgery or badassadam1(), I was forced back to work by an unstable boss who was heavily misguided by a State policy to not give out sick leave. Either you earn it and use it. Or, you earn it and lose it.

Annual leave is (to this point) untouchable and sacrosanct. This is going to change in the near future without protection from a union or a representative with enough power to foment a war from the Right against State employees.

I am very glad that the bone spur is no more, and that you are on the mend--and also that you have a roommate for support!

I hope your healing period is short, effective, and as pain-free as is possible.

I am happy for you, Adam.

If it was in your foot and you're stepping on it the recuperation time may be considerable.

Great news! Look at this as another positive step in recovering physically and mentally from Mormonism.

Damn.

If you still had the bone spurs, I could have voted for you as president of the United States.

Yay. Now give yourself time to heal. Thats how we f up, by not giving ourselves downtime for nerves and body to heal.

If you have a good physical therapist, who makes sure you understand your share of the work, it can be a marvelous learning experience that will get you back on your feet. That's their goal and they want to see you achieve it.

I've met some incredible PT people along my various rehab journeys, and most of them really cared. If one exercise didn't seem to work, they would try another, until we had something that worked.

I have nothing but positive things to say about those folks. Remember - the two of you are a TEAM, with the same goal. All of them want to be be functional again.. I remember during a couple of my PT series, I worked so hard to achieve the goals they showed me, I would practice and practice, to show off. I loved to make them proud of me!!

I don't think there will be PT for this one. I get the stitches out tomorrow so we shall see what he says. I do want to see a photo of this bone spur after it got removed to see exactly what it looked like and see how big it was. I don't know what kind of PT would be done for removal of a bone spur in the throat or hyoid bone.

You probably won't need PT unless you experience breathing, eating, or other swallowing issues after a reasonable recovery period that are considered to be post-surgical complications (as opposed to lingering issues of the same variety that are considered to be a result of an unsuccessful surgical procedure).

I should still be in pain at the surgical site correct? I am on day 6. It's hurting like a son of a gun right where the stitches are.

Every case is different, but it's a tender area. Some residual pain is presumably normal.

This one actually means something don. A bone spur at the throat that the doc said was probably caused by a strangling. Removing this means something to me that i don't have to live with what happened in the past anymore.
