I can't properly express my gratitude for the existence of RfM and for y'all folks. Sometimes I get the non-musical blues and lurk this site. Invariably I read something that makes me smile and makes me feel less alone.
Bon

Wanna tell y'a story 'bout a gal named Beth Warned all the kids to stay away from crystal meth Told 'em do your homework, eat your veggies, don't be slime And keep away from Facebook 'cuz it sucks up all your time (Instagram, too)
Next thing ya know, all the kids are drinkin' Sprite Brushin' all their teeth to make 'em look all clean an' bright Givin' good advice to ev'ryone turned out so well That Donald Trump complained that she ripped off his Nobel (Prize, that is)
Hello Beth! I agree with you. I don't need any more evidence of the fraud of "the church". The ever changing doctrines, the true history, the meaness of some TBM's, the corporate suits that claim to be prophets etc. I know the church is fake "beyond the shadow of a doubt";) Even with all that, RFM is still a good place to hear from folks and sometimes enjoy a good laugh.
How's the writing? I miss a lot about FB, especially seeing what you're up to. Yet every time I think about going back, some new nonsense has happened.
I like jokes too - many of us do. (The) [Guess] Who knew?
Sometimes I come to play Other times I stay all day Sometimes I have no time To get rhythm and rhyme LDS doublespeak Making people freak People are taking about Living lives of doubt Never a chance heal Always spinning the wheel Free, I sometimes return With rubber & time to burn Read what others are saying Maybe do a little playing
I read. I write. I freak. I gasp. I remember. I can't stand. I lie. I cry. I help. I love. I live. Not necessarily in that order.
Occasionally I still share stories, tales, takes, observations, wisdom, questions, antidotes, secrets (sacred$), references, facts, links, advice, poetry, prose, who knows...
Who cares? Not my hair's! Not my toes. Not my hat.
Here's my trick: Come back every six months or so until you have a knock-down, drag-out flame war with someone and get all twitchy, take a break, and everyone forgets what a jerk you were six months before!

That's a pretty good strategy because i am a real jerk online. Not so much in real life i think.
I'm about halfway between Seattle and Portland. We can talk off board, but as long as I don't have to drive over that sick joke of a bridge to Astoria, I would love to see you.
Yah, for sure. If you're driving across the border (because that's crazy, but whatever) ;-) , I'll catch the Amtrack That Fell on I-5 and hang out witch ya.
I'm in Centralia. I'd be further out in the woods if I there were dependable high speed. Alack and alas, no dice.
I'm getting into permaculture, and I think I'm going to get ducks next year. For now I'm looking around and taking notes - where is the sun during certain times of day during certain times of year? Which tree limbs need to go because they're dead and might fall on something that could sue me? Which dead trees can stay and provide habitat for the things that live by the river? Which need some care? I'm lucky I can identify most of them now. That took a while. Where can I collect rain? Stuff like that.
I'm a wee bit tired of Seattle - some of the funky places I loved seemed to disappear overnight. I'm still missing The Hurricane.
Anyway, blah blah break is over. Touch base off board. My kid is happily coding but griping about the lack of best practices and the need for a systems analyst and other stuff at his job. He's toying with the idea of grad school at UDub, which is painful to this Cardinal, but he'd be close for a while.
OK, semi-rural. I'm planning trip to Seattle and Longview, so Centralia is right on the way. October, Canadian Thanksgiving, a much better time for a road trip than American Thanksgiving. What were we thinking?
You still appear to maybe be within mudflow range of Ranier. Way to live life on the edge. :)
Software companies are in a perpetual struggle to keep up, or they are dying. Or both. Struggling to keep up is the better option, and at least it is not boring.
