I've had at least one, and preferably more torties for most of my adult life. They are very bright, have lots of 'tude, and I think they remember the days when the ancient Egyptians worshiped cats as deities.
They always have catnip toys and love to play with them, so it seemed like a natural choice for a moniker. It's fun and playful, and seems to fit!
On the positive side, it got me out of a whole week of radiation therapy, but I will have to make it up.
I called the radiation treatment center and told them, "I don't think you guys need me and my germ-laden body around all the people there with compromised immune systems."
Probably by Monday, the antibiotic (a powerful one) will have kicked in so thoroughly that I won't be a danger to anyone, and maybe by then I will have the energy to go. No way could I have crawled in there today, anyway.
My son's birthday is coming up in a few days, so maybe we can go out to dinner with him. (It would be nice to get my appetite back - looking forward to that!)
