Makurosu... my buddy ever since I joined RFM.

Deconstructor... look up his posts about the church.

Dagny... Who told us stories
about The diffent Gods and Goddesses.

Dimmsdale..

Skunk Puppet...

Cabby... Super Smart about many things.

Kristen..

Red Wing

Juby Jane

Maharoni

Mountain Man

Turandot Puccini

Ima workingonit

Moira

Charley

Kristen

Helaman

Wine Country Girl

Jerry the Apostate

Mujun

Charley

Pen

Brefots

Tedd... who was a constant basher of Christianity from which I
Learned alot.

SL Drone

Wag

These were some of them that I got to know years ago right
after 911. They each taught me things that only they could.
They were pretty much great and I'll forever be glad I landed
here on RFM and now years later, I've resigned my membership.
If you remember someone that I left out please say their name and how you remember them. Some of you are still here and I adore you... and appreciate your contributions to this board
like Dagny, Hie, the Boner, Elder Berry, the Shumster, Memikeyyounot who I had the pleasure of meeting he and the Boner this summer, Lots Wife, Nightengale, who is such a love... there are many more and If I've left you out speak up... Any way I've loved you all and argued with some of you ... Thank you for being here in this club house for people who are sorry they were
mormons... I can even remember back in the day When A certain person who I shall not name here because I believe he was banned
and His name is Norton. Also thank you to Susan I/S.who has a
trillion secrets and never tells them and who could spot a
sock puppet in seconds and threaten them very convincingly. Also
a bigh grateful thankyou to Eric K who so unselfishly originated RFM on his own .. I don't know how many people have
left the church that came to RFM but if it weren't for Eric
they would still be in the church.

Love you all. see how many people you rememer. Oh and I can't forget Steve Benson for all the inside information about the church, its prophets and general authorities he shared.

Saucie,

You are the bomb. And that man you hang out with (there's no accounting for taste) is pretty cool too.

I remember a lot of those people. I think Makurosu, Dagny and Mujun are still around sometimes. And I believe Imaworkingonit and Helaman visit a sister site, maybe SL Drone too.

My deep gratitude to Eric and Susan and the new generation of mods. Very generous community service, involving no criminal trespassing!

Lot's Wife.... I adore you and I'm so impressed with your brain power. Thank you for being my friend here... and maybe Facebook if you are inclined. The Dawg thinks so highly of you as do I . Thanks for being here and being you. You are so the best.

I had to look that up Lottie. I can’t comment because I’m hopeless with math/science.

Now, let’s see, if I use Shrodinger’s Cat three times in conversation, it will be mine forever! I still don’t have a clue about quantum physics; but, I will sound smarter than your average Boner. Not that Boners aren’t smart, it’s just that they have limited attention spans and interests. (((Chaste hugs)))

FlattopSF
Deanie the Dreaded Single Adult
FreeAtLast--Was he Blair Watson?
I miss them!

Forestpal
Cludgie
Anointed One--Phillips

All amazing people!

Who was it that got ex-ed and was denied his BYU diploma, because he printed a calendar of male missionaries?

Who were the couple that, when they discovered Mormonism is a hoax, got into their car and drove to their son's stateside mission, and got him out of there, and brought him home?

I just lurked, from time to time, in those days, but these people, and the ones already mentioned, helped me a great deal, and they also made me laugh!

Yes, FreeAtLast was Blair Watson, now sadly deceased. Someone has preserved Blair's writings on a website, however.

Blair posted a lot of material of great help to many of us (he focused on psych and cult aspects). I think Eric has archived some of it.

He wrote here about his mission in South America and how rough it was. He became critically ill and his MP didn't seek medical help for Blair right away and then only grudgingly at the point of death did the MP arrange transport out of their tiny town to a centre where Blair could get to a doctor. The MP didn't inform his parents either and didn't even tell Blair himself about his actual diagnosis until his mission was finished. (It was meningitis, iirc, for which you need antibiotics pronto). Blair ended up with years and years of health problems stemming from that and also from intestinal parasites that did long term damage. (Sorry Elder Berry - I know your daughter is down there somewhere. Here's hoping MPs' brains have evolved since then).

I was fortunate to meet Blair - he lived not far from me. We met for lunch and then another time I had a seaside dinner with Blair and his gf. He listened to my account of my most unpleasant mo baptism experience that was still much on my mind back then. Little did I know then what had happened to Blair as a missionary. It really helped me to talk to him. He was non-judgemental, which can be a most healing encounter if you have a thing niggling in your head.

I was SO very shocked and upset to read of his passing. I have always wondered if it had anything to do with his mission medical issues (although likely not as I believe I read it was an embolism or something similar that took him in his sleep). He was still young - mid-40s I think. I am still so sad to remember him saying he didn't return to better health after his mission until his 30s. I would have hoped for decades more health and happiness for him.

I would recommend his articles to anyone. They offer info and insight into Mormonism and cults in general. He always used the term 'cultic Mormonism' which was distinctive and for some reason made me laugh.

I have been working on a novel about holy-rollers. My background.
For those of you who don't know, I was never a Mormon so I could not be an A-pos-tate. I married in (Cheryl) and so I am A-spouse-tate.
On our first date at Arizona State University I popped the question to Cheryl. The question was "Are you religious?"
She said, "No."
I replied, "Tell me more about yourself." We have been married over half a century.
On that date I had already dumped holy-roller and she had dumped TBM.
It was a marriage made in the real heaven not the imaginary Kolob world CK.
I have been working on a holy-roller novel which will be published this summer.
Got lots of help from Cheryl on that project as she worked on her novel. Plural Bride to Be.
Hers is here on RfM and Amazon.
There are lots of things in common between holy-roller nuts and Mormon nuts.
They are both non-drinkers, pay 10 percent tithing, the smart ones come out the dumb ones stay in, use olive oil for "healing", shun, these are the last days for holy-rollers, latter days for mormons, sin is everywhere, etc. etc. etc.

He was stung by a yellow jacket when we met up in Philly to go to the Masonic Temple. That was a mess - we thought it was a bee, and he'd never been stung before, so we had to track down some Benadryl.

I so enjoyed his posts.

And all the others in at least the past decade that have left us, one way or another.

It's funny how you can feel an attachment to someone just through their words on a screen.

Many great people here who have made me laugh and cry and feel so happy to see a post by them. It's especially heart-warming when you see people time after time reaching out to help someone they don't know and will likely never meet. And for many of those who have come here and stayed a while and then wandered off they may never know how they touched fellow travellers.

Back in the 90s rpcman used to post here.

I spent a lot of time at his site 2think.org back then. His book list there was a whole new world for me.

His site is still there with book lists from that time.

http://www.2think.org/hii/mo.shtml

Years after that, I remember focusing on a study of world mythology which was fascinating. I posted here God of the Day for a period of time here to highlight god stories I found to be funny or interesting. The gods humans have created over the centuries and civilizations tell us a lot about human nature.

There have been so many posters I could mention. I have been fortunate to have met several RfM posters.

I remember Mrs. Eszterhas (can't remember how she spelled it now). I hope she is doing well.
