Might find a place to watch fireworks in our town that is not crowded.
Otherwise, nothing special.

With any luck, I will be able to eat normal food again by then. Man, my DH scorches a good hot dog better than anybody I know. I'm supposed to avoid salty foods, but decided long ago that my single, BBQ-scorched hot dog (Hebrew National, DH insists) with tomato, a pickle spear, and mustard once a year isn't bad. If I can handle some potato salad too, that would be nice. And sparklers. Nothing bigger.

Four decades ago at this time, I was heavily pregnant with my son. It was to be the bi-centennial of America, and I wanted so badly to give birth on the 4th. Overshot by two days, despite doing jumping jacks and running up and down our stairs to jar him loose.

He hasn't changed. He operates on his own time schedule, and I wouldn't change a thing about him!!!

This holiday literally snuck up on me. People were setting off fireworks in the park and I didn't know why.

We'll have steak, pasta salad, slaw, garlic bread and possibly a dessert. DH has already selected a nice wine.

Why watch John Adams when you can drink Sam Adams?

It's Canada Day, July 1 here...our national holiday. Going to my rural community centre for our annual picnic. There will be good chat with neighbors, lots of beer and wine and a really good time amongst good country folk. July 4th is marked on my calendar because my son and his family are flying to Europe that day.

Please let me know what you think of it, Jaxson. DH and I were planning to see it before I got sick. I'm not quite up to venturing out, just yet, but I DO want to see it.

I would appreciate your thoughts on it! I was a great admirer of Fred Rogers.

We will be closing the house up early and trying to keep the dogs calm. My two little ones do quite well as long as the idgit down the street doesn't go buy ILLEGAL ones. Our town does a big show but if we ignore it they do too for the most part. One of my Border Collies was deathly afraid of them and it was a real ordeal for all.

Everyone, please make extra sure your pets are secured.
