Smith was every bit as much a sexual predator as those two men are/were.

All of them suffered from malignant narcissism, and high functioning borderline personality disorders/ bordering on sociopathy.

ONLY if he had been caught or turned in, tried and convicted.

I say to TBMs, "If somebody was in your neighborhood doing what
Joseph Smith was doing in Nauvoo, you'd want him strung up.

If JS were alive today, he would be public enemy number one. Just imagine it, some guy has 38 wives most of who are the wives of other living men. One of the wives is fourteen years old, and the guy blames it all on God. He would be immediately arrested and the accounts of his crimes would be on sixty-minutes. When the other inmates found out he was having sex with under-aged girls, he would end up being some other inmate's wife himself. Bubba says 'bend over Joseph cause I got flaming sword coming your way and God's going to kill me if I don't let you have it'.

The church really handicapped itself by tieing themselves to Joseph Smith and his story.
