I am having the best tasting latte on the planet at this moment. It is making me very happy. Calming. Yes it has that effect on me. And it tastes so good.

If there is a God, then he made coffee.* Perhaps his greatest achievement. A very intelligent creation. So at the very least, that is proof right there that Mormon God is an imposter and we can all rest assured that if we are stuck with an after-life, it won't be the coffee free Mormon one or the one with Wendy Nelson in it. And, we don't have to go to Spirit Prison and have the same ward teachers trying to get us to come back now they are missionaries in the spirit world!

Of course Mormons would say Mormon God is real and made coffee just to test us but I'm not really interested in that sort of blather right now. Too happy.

Now about the wine . . .

*Of course I still give Mother Nature credit.

Ha. I thought this was going to be about artwork.

I don't care for coffee (I was such a good Mormon-in-waiting on that score) but it is vastly more drinkable to me with a little of the Irish in it (whiskey, that is, or any variation thereof).

I'm jealous at how mellow you sound D&D. (I thought coffee is an upper/hyper-upper?).

"Intelligent creation" - love it! - a funny little atheist pun. :)

Irish coffee? Mmm. And don't even get me started on Mexican coffee! Kahlua, Tequila and whipped cream on top. Nothing like it after a plate of green corn tamales preceded by a Margarita.

Oh, it's Friday. I think I know what I'm having for dinner tonight.

And yes, Nightingale. I have a latte or cappuccino every afternoon and it relaxes me. I know it's not the way its supposed to work, but then, I seem to have a knack for getting everything wrong.

I could not survive in a world without coffee. I've spent too many years as what we used to call "a data processing professional". Soon to be a retired professional, I hope.

Attributed to Ben Franklin, but apparently more myth than literary fact. Still true enough, though. And he did say,

“Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards; there it enters the roots of the vines, to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy.”

I abstain from alcohol because of a medical condition,* but I don't think Wise Old Ben would NOT object if we applied this excellent theology to coffee.

*Alcohol tends to make my face break out in lacerations and contusions.

"Alcohol tends to make my face break out in lacerations and contusions."

Are you alluding to barroom brawls?

Some people are social drinkers. I was an antisocial drinker.

90 percent of Asian Americans and 75 percent of Native Americans are "lactose intolerant"

Yet our beloved Book of Mormon touts herds of cattle and "the land of milk and honey"

Maybe only the Lamanites were cursed with Lactose intolerance and the Nephites were blessed to enjoy dairy.

Gets me thinking...

If any negative number squared becomes positive, wouldn't that mean that bacon wrapped shrimp is magically Kosher?

So, no tie-in to the breast feeding thread? I wonder how coffee would be with breast milk.
