Going to be having my surgery tomorrow to have a total hip replacement. I have to be at the hospital tomorrow at 6:15. As long as things go will, I will return and report either late afternoon/early evening tomorrow or sometime on Wednesday. Thank you all for the prayers/positive thoughts that have been sent my way.

I've had my artificial knees for nearly 20 years now, and they are holding up a lot better than the rest of me.

Take care - you know we will be eager to hear how things went!

Neighbor had both hips replaced couple years ago about six months apart. She was up and walking within 48 hours of the surgery. She is extremely happy with the results.

Hope things go just as well for you.i

My two sisters and one brother had hip replacements as well and they were so happy they had the surgeries. They were up and walking the next day and were free of the pain that had plagued them for so long. Wishing the same wonderful outcome for you kativicky. All the best from this MexMom!

May the surgeons be skillful, may the OR be clean and welcoming, and may you emerge sore but on your way to a renewed life full of walking and maybe even running...!

Hope it all goes well. Hang in there.

Glad to hear you're out of surgery and have an appetite!

Rest, rest, and more rest.

And be happy. The worst is behind you. Now the healing can begin.

Yay! It's over! You are brave! Good times ahead, for you--Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas--all without that awful hip pain! It's so worth it!

Had a decent night last night. They start things really early around here. It is 4:30 am eastern time. Had an option to go back to bed for an hour when the nurse came by with my medication and help me to the bathroom but I knew that by the time we got done with everything, I would be wide awake. Did scare the nurse and the nurse's aid overnight. The alarm on my IV pump went off while I was in the middle of a deep sleep and scared the mess out of me and woke up screaming. Not one of the best moments since I have been here but they did make sure that I was okay though.

Yesterday went very well. The first hour after I woke up was rough but it definitely didn't stay that way. The pain medication is making me really nauseous so I am having to also take anti-nausea medicine to go along with the pain meds. I had two really good meals and that helped me out a lot.

Alarms going off would scare the bejeepers out of me too.

Good that you're okay.

Kat, I know what you mean about the pain meds and nausea. They will fix you up so the pain meds won't make you sick. Now is the time to wnjoy some good naps. ((((Kat))))

I am home!!!! Actually I got to come home yesterday but today I have spent most of the day bumming it in bed. I got home health coming out to the house to help with my physical therapy so I do not have to hassle with leaving the house for a couple of weeks. I am pretty much been declined home bound until I build up my strength again. I am doing really well except that my recliner sits way to low and I do not have enough upper-body strength to push myself up out of the chair and of course I had to learn that one the hard way. Luckily one of the guys was there to help me back up out of it.
