When I used to go church hopping it was hard finding a church where I felt a connection. It's easy to see why people get turned off on church IMO.

But I kept going somewhere. And now I've found a refuge @ shul. Until further notice.

Obviously church fills a number of needs on Maslows heirarchy of needs.

I'm not Christian, or female but I am white and in 50s and Id fall into that category.
The god I love isn't a little short on cash.

I find some in both categories I identify with.

I'm not sure what I believe, but I've always known I believed different than everyone else even as a mormon. I can't understand someone who wants to spend hours in church. I'm making up for lost time by not going.

I'm 61. I'm a female democrat.

When I look again at the reasons people DO go to church, Mormonism failed in every category! Especially the first. I never felt close to God in a Mormon church, and I attended and believed in God all my life.

My reason for attending was that I felt obligated to go.
When I was little, my parents FORCED me to go.

Maybe this is why Mormonism resorts to threats and fear and bullying. Mafia tactics work the best of all, because Mormonism can not offer any of the other things people are searching for!

We had to go too when I was a child. It did instill in me the desire to worship. Just no longer as a Mormon. It's too Mormony! ;)
