I just heard some gossip, admittedly 3rd hand, about a prominent LDS family in Simi Valley.

He was the SP, and his wife recently announced to her family that she's lesbian, and was leaving her family and/or the church.

Since you have to be married to be SP, he was released.

Has anyone else heard about this? If so, I'd like to know that it's really news.

If true, then congratulations to Mrs. SP for stopping living a lie. And SHAME on the LDS environment that fosters such pretense.

She'll be ex'd. He'll remarry a TBM and for him only the names and faces will have changed. (Only partly joshing.)

I looked up who this would be and don't know the family. I was already out when I moved here. I'll have to ask a niece or nephew who are still in and in the Simi stake.
