I just wanted to clear up a few things regarding diabetes.
First, diabetics don't need to "eat every 5 hours". Diabetics need to carefully balance their food intake with their insulin dosing. Generally there are two ways to do this. One can do multiple injections daily, using fast- and slow-acting insulins in a schedule that is individualized and worked out with the patient and physician working in close harmony. Many diabetics nowadays utilize automated insulin pumps, some of which coordinate with a subcutaneously implanted blood-glucose monitor via a radio or Bluetooth system. In fact, most current monitors can be managed via smart phones.
As for whether Mormonism makes people diabetic, remember that nobody really knows why diabetes happens, especially for Type II diabetes. Obese people are more prone, but the connection between dietary choices and diabetes is far from clear.
Thank you.
