Do you think they are finally bringing back plural marriage
That would be a 'seat belt' testimony item. (I don't think my brother would mind, but how would he pay for it? Been a bishop something besides a senior mission to look forward to, Right?)

Would this be legal yet in the US? Do you think they could pull it off now (not like Utah would be thrown out of the union - re soldiers and stuff around the MAnifesto) Or would they have to be just 'spiritual wives'

Do you think Utah mormons are ready for both males and females to be sealed to others or just the males again? I don't think that sounds like the church, they'd be more, traditional- just multiple wives.

General Conference 2018 Pologamy anyone?

I've been preaching this for years...

So long as the practitioners do not ask the State to recognize more than one spouse (in other words, only one marriage license per person), people are free to enter into whatever social/spousal liaisons they'd like to create. And the mormon church would be allowed to seal one man to many women, to whom only one could he be legally married.

The Doofus could have been sealed to the prophetess Wendy long before his legal wife passed on to a dust-free realm.

It's such a natural! It would be another step up in status.

But...what would the good sisters have to say? Not being a good sister, I shall differ to them on this issue. Would Saucie let me have another woman? No. Hell, no!

For that matter, could you handle, er...manage another woman?

Oh, sure! They'd just have to be in synch on telling me what to do.

Even as downtrodden as mormon women are, I don't think they would tolerate this. Unless, of course we're talking about one woman and several husbands.

I've covered this issue, too.

One wife, five husbands.

Imagine the protection the kids would have! The solid base from which to launch themselves!

And then while one husband takes wifey shopping, the other four go play golf and drink some beer.

Remember "Paint Your Wagon"?

Paint Your Wagon. . .

Wasn't that in the 1940s?

I'd figure out your probable age in dog years but I don't think my calculator has that many digits.

You're thinking of "Yankee Doodle Dandy"...

"Paint Your Wagon" was about the origin of the Earl Scheib chain of vehicle paint shops. Just like building skyscrapers, it was riveting!

....I worked at Earl Scheib when the paint jobs were $19.95. They used a pre-mixed, pre-dispensed amount of General Electric branded silicone enamel.

In my opinion it was Lee Marvin's greatest role and he did some great ones.

I don't think they are going to command people to start taking more than one wife. the church is stupid but that would be corporate suicide.

and share him with many men. I WILL BE THE ONLY WOMAN. I don't care if he desires me if I'm going to have to be a polygamist. He can have all the gay sex he wants. But I must be the only woman.

I'd prefer neither, though.

This would be the ONE THING that would get my last holdout of a sibling (sister) out for good and she would not allow her husband to stay in. Her husband and I had a little chat some years after my husband left me. I don't know how it started, but I started to tease him about me not having a husband and he said that he is NOT ALLOWED TO PRACTICE POLYGAMY even if it is me without a man. ha ha ha ha

MOST mormon women won't put up with it.

But my lesbian sister-in-law is looking forward to polygamy. She is married to a straight man and even denies to me now that she is lesbian, though she came out to me years ago. I think she feels since she is 70 and hasn't had a lover (in years), she has proven herself and God will consider her having done her duty. Anyway, she told my ex that she is looking forward to polygamy.

It wont be polygamy, but I have neighbors and relatives in the know who live with a mile of the GAs (Eagle ridge road) and work at the COB, and tomorrow is suppose to be a big deal! So get ready folks cuz changes are a coming! We aren't suppose to say what but let's me just say a little birdy told me it may have to do with deacon's and deaconesses.
