If you make multiple translations between many different languages using Google Translate and then translate it back into English, the results can be hilarious.

I have Google Translated the heck out of Come, Come Ye Saints.

Here is the original followed by the Google Translate version:-

1 Come, come, ye Saints, no toil nor labor fear;
But with joy wend your way.
Though hard to you this journey may appear,
Grace shall be as your day.
'Tis better far for us to strive
Our useless cares from us to drive;
Do this, and joy your hearts will swell--
All is well! All is well!

2. Why should we mourn or think our lot is hard?
'Tis not so; all is right.
Why should we think to earn a great reward
If we now shun the fight?
Gird up your loins; fresh courage take.
Our God will never us forsake;
And soon we'll have this tale to tell--
All is well! All is well!

3. We'll find the place which God for us prepared,
Far away in the West,
Where none shall come to hurt or make afraid;
There the Saints will be blessed.
We'll make the air with music ring,
Shout praises to our God and King;
Above the rest these words we'll tell--
All is well! All is well!

4. And should we die before our journey's through,
Happy day! All is well!
We then are free from toil and sorrow, too;
With the just we shall dwell!
But if our lives are spared again
To see the Saints their rest obtain,
Oh, how we'll make this chorus swell--
All is well! All is well!

1) I'm afraid
But of joy
But make some mistakes.
Today there is a blessing there.
It's better to use it
Panther Firefighter
Sorry, but I'm happy ...
Nobody has a choice! Nobody has a choice!

2. Your words are intense, it's fun
Any ...
This is for you
So now we can see
Fi, what should we do?
We are embarrassing.
Listen to the story ...
Nobody has a choice! Nobody has a choice!

3. There is no chance for God to be ready.
West
I'm tired
Thank you for your cat Music
His glory and respect
In other words, he tells us:
Nobody has a choice! Nobody has a choice!

We need to be familiar with the loss.
That's okay! Nobody has a choice!
It's a job, and it's not happy.
But wait!

What can I do?
Nobody has a choice! Nobody has a choice!

Thus when we seek out Google Translate to handle a biblical verse like... "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" we get:

"The wine is good, but the meat is rotten."

Score another zero for Artificial Nonintelligence.

...or translating "manual labor" as "hand job".

it did sound like cats being tortured, so...."thank you for your cat music" is obviously an inspired translation.

And I think we all know that there have been many times in the Church's history when what the saints really needed was a crack squad of Panther Firefighters to take care of business, instead of a bunch of stuffed shirts in cheap polyester suits.

So maybe Google translate is serving as a catalyst for revelation and the first person who uses it thus gets to be the next Joseph Smith.

God, this is too on the nose. "Nobody has a choice" is the unspoken motto of TSCC, after all.

That's creepy. It's as though you played the Mormon hymn backwards, and got a Satanic message:

"Nobody has a choice"

It is, indeed is the unspoken motto of the Mormon cult.

Thank you for your cat music indeed!

Hey, you know my great great great greatuncle wrote this hymn?
He came to the states to be Joseph’s Smith’s whipping boy, while his brother, my great great great grandpa, stayed in Wales (or England, I can’t remember).

The story goes they came to run off the weirdo Mormons and got converted instead.. why didn’t they just run them off like the planned?
Clearly my ancestors were big wusses.

I can’t tell you how marginally proud I feel in my tenuous connection to Mormon history :/

As I’m constantly reminded by my Mom, who bore his surname until she married my dad.

Lucky me, my middle name is ‘Clayton’ though.

My guess is the Clayton who wrote this hymn has thousands of Mormon progeny.

I kinda think "Panther Firefighter" has an interesting ring to it...

I imagine someone will adopt it as a screen name.

I really want to hear that sung by the sickly sweet and innocent-sounding computer at the end of 'Portal'

I tried doing this with "When the Saints Go marching in," but didn't quite get the same knack to it that you did.

Maybe you can get it translated for moi.

Love that marching song. :)

It's a Spiritual; used to be sung slowly, but then jazz got a hold of it. It's used in funerals a lot, and while they are in a procession, it's hard to call it a march.

"'When the Saints Go Marching In', often referred to as "The Saints", is a Black spiritual. Though it originated as a Christian hymn, it is often played by jazz bands. This song was famously recorded on May 13, 1938, by Louis Armstrong and his orchestra."

Here's perhaps the most famous rendition, referenced above, featuring my dad's doppelganger, Louis Armstrong:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyLjbMBpGDA

When they stood side by side, in a low light, you couldn't tell them apart! In a good light, my dad's slightly lighter skin tone gave it away.

I guess it could be turned into a marching song...
