He brought me a refrigerator magnet from Weed, California, which was a two-horse, hole-in-the-wall town when I visited it as a child, and where my father spent a few years of his own childhood.

He had called me from there, and I begged him to find me a refrigerator magnet because of the family connection to the place. I have a collection of refrigerator magnets from all over creation. Many I have bought for myself, but a fair number have come from traveling family and friends.

It was the perfect gift!! (And it's SOOO good to have him back home!!)

I've been to Weed quite a few times and I drove through there a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure, but I think they got a third horse. :)

How's the ankle doing?

The ankle still hurts some, especially across the top of the foot. I have been going without the brace, mainly at home. I'm going back to the podiatrist tomorrow, and I hope he doesn't fuss at me for not using the brace. The original injury was on September 8, I think. It does seem to be taking its own sweet time to mend.

It is SO nice to have DH back at home!

So happy for you!

I too get extremely uneasy when hubby has to leave overnight which, luckily, is not very often.

You may want to suggest to your husband that his buddy take a plane next time, lol .

Now, go out to dinner for a big meal or cook one at home....You need a good stuffing after just nibbling.
