It's called the compulsively repeated aspirational pronouncement ("C.R.A.P.") that unwittingly surfaces over and over again in an author's writings, when that author is experiencing a particularly intense and persistent problem.
And now we know why the phrase "and it came to pass" appears so often in the Book of Mormon.
