I am having a very casual get together at my business with about 8 people. I will be serving wine but I don’t know how. White is suppose to be chilled right? I don’t have a fridge at my business (and don’t really want to put it in my home fridge because of the family). What should I do? How much do I need to get and just equal red and white right? Is it ok to just get cups from the dollar store? Anything else I need to know? Do I need to open and let them sit for a while before pouring? Help!! I am stressed!

Get some buckets. Fill them partially with ice. Set the open white wine bottles in. Done deal.

You don't need to serve white and red. Pick one and run with it.

Actual glasses would be nicer than cheap cups, but if you go the disposable route, I would suggest clear plastic instead of paper or red plastic.

White wine doesn't really need to "breathe."

And wine is about relaxing and enjoying life. For the host, too. Relax, it'll be fine. Even if you don't get everything perfect. Have a nice glass of chardonnay. :)

Dollar store should have $1 wine glasses, at least the ones near me do.

Red wine can be served at room temperature. So you can do the bucket with ice trick for the white as Hie indicates, and have a couple bottles of red sitting nearby in case someone is really into red.

Here’s a common misapprehension: the prettier the box, the better the wine!

No,no,no!!

Like so many other things, “you get what you pay for”! Don’t pay less than $2.99 a gallon! And if you keep the lights low, the color of the wine doesn’t matter!

Also, get a cone-cup dispenser and distribute waste baskets around the room.

Elderolddog, your sense of social graces and decorum brings tears to my eyes, or is it tears of laughter?

Reminds me a story my wife told about her girl friend when they were 6-7 years old.

The local minister was coming over for dinner and her friend's mother told her friend to set the table with the good dishes and the nice napkins.

Much to almost everyone's horror the table was set with the best china and Mom's sanitary napkins!

Hear, hear. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who enjoys a box of fine wine. Tastes great, and the container can double as a base for the inevitable bag of Spicy Nacho Doritos.

For a special treat, I sometimes buy a bottle of orange caviar from the fish & tackle shop.

Oh, oh, I know! Plastic sacrament cups!!

And say the sacrament prayer, except use the word 'wine' instead! And you can do it, since you're a woman!

All the guests will be "WTF?" and you can explain and laugh!

Nice glasses are most preferred
Red is generally room temp.
Consider snacks* & amenities**

*Cheeses, olives, crackers, fruit, ...
**Table cloth-napkins, decorations, glass-markers, name places, humor

I agree with poster saying 'relax'!
May I suggest a 'relaxitive' beforehand.
Perhaps another one or two when it's all over?

Have a blast (watch videos on entertaining small groups-etc.)!
Check: Music [but only the best, most moving, far out wicked stuff]

Party on!

Go to the cooler section of Fred Myers and pick up:
Gewürztraminer
It is a dessert wine, very sweet like a Mikes, only much better.
serve cold..it is my favorite when I do celebrate something.
