It was rumored that Gordon Jump is / (was) LDS.

I know, it really doesn't matter much, but a bit 'interesting', I guess.

A friend of mine was working in the TV business in LA back in those days and Gordon Jump was in his ward. Said Mr. Jump was a very nice fellow.

He was actually in one of the temple films that I saw.

I remember in the 1980s, they had some minor celebrities and LDS luminaries, like Gordon Jump and Spencer Palmer in the movies. I don't think the Eves were particularly famous, but they were probably actresses or models or something like that.

There used to be a Gilligan's Island type thing with the Eves. They had two versions of the film, one with a blonde Eve and one with a brunette Eve and it became a Mary Ann vs. Ginger thing in irreverent conversations among budding apostates.

I'm kind of curious what the temple film is like in 2018. They could actually do a CGI version if they wanted to, I guess.

I think there are three reasonably current films that are in the rotation.

From Wikipedia....
In the 1960s, Jump converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Subsequently, he acted in several church-sanctioned instructional and educational productions, including When Thou Art Converted (1967), Pioneers In Petticoats (1969) [1] What About Thad? (1970), a marriage-advice film,[2] and as the Apostle Peter in a 1969 film used as part of the LDS temple ceremonies.[3] Jump would return to LDS films with a small role in the 2002 comedy The Singles Ward.

Spouse(s)
Olinda D. Kandt (1954–1962)
Anna F. Inge Jump (1963–1992)
Betty McKeever (1993–2003)

Married 3 times.
So much for that "marriage advice" film.
Of course, he coulda been a widower on #2.
The 1st wife mighta left when he converted.
Who knows? But, personally, I'm leery of men married 3 or more times.
It just reeks of something must be off about him to me.

We have wild turkeys around where we live and they DO FLY! One incident with the turkeys I posted a while back. A red fox noticed with one of the hen turkeys had a bad leg and lagged. His plan of attack was noticed by the tom turkey and he rounded the other hen turkeys around the weak one to protect her and he chased the fox away! This was in our back year.

When my wife taught kindergarten, she suspended the turkeys the children made from the ceiling all over the classroom, then hung the Arthur Carlson quote in the center of the room. The parents, though older than my wife was, were mostly too culturally oblivious to get the reference.

Causing much loud laughter and light-mindedness.
