Personally I don’t see that dress as appropriate for reading the news-from what I can see of it. I don’t have Facebook and can’t look at the video.

Why is it that women reporters have to dress in skin tight clothing with plunging necklines to do their jobs while their male counterparts dress in normal suits?

This sexy reporter crap started on Fox news and has since spread across cable news and even to local news.

I just don’t understand why it’s necessary for women to look sexy to do that job but not men.

If men don’t have to be ornaments to do that job, why do women?

I think it’s demeaning to women and men to have this expectation for female reporters but not men.

I didn’t say there was anything wrong with the dress or suggest it was immoral of her to wear it. Only that from what I could see of the video I found it inappropriate for a professional setting.

As I stated I couldn’t watch the video because I don’t have a Facebook account.

The older female reporter on that same channel, who does the morning news was also shamed years ago. I think they represent them uppity, educated, professional women, that many in UT don't like.

I think she looks quite lovely and professional. You got a problem with that?

Her outfits aren't "professional" (blazer/blouse/skirt), they are more like 'evening' attire or 'date' attire which are sexy.

I imagine her station has let her know they want more of 'evening' attire and not 'college professor' attire and maybe it helps ratings. She looks attractive and sexy but not academic.

I think the theory is that women are devaluing themselves by dressing sexy rather than professional. But if you compare the salaries of professors with those of movie stars or models, who is valued more highly?

Sex workers should be valued more highly. And they should look sexy as that’s part of their job.

I can't find enough energy in life to care about what other people are wearing.

It must be exhausting to be concerned with everyone else.

One comment told her to "wear some white underwear under her dress and problem solved." To funny.
This particular reporter has some "porn shoulders" sometimes, but she always looks professional to me. Or can porn shoulders be professional? I'm not up on fashion protocol.

Mormons embrace rape as a religious practice.

To me, the neckline is a bit too low for an on-air reporter. It looks more like a cocktail dress. But it's hardly worth creating a stir about.

I'm assuming it's a Mormon woman who complained, but she would be in for a huge shock if she ever left Utah as many women in TV news wear similar outfits. To me, she still looks professional.

I just watched Liberte Chan do the weather at 7 a.m. on Saturday in a black dress that would be right at home at a cocktail party; I think it's kind of amusing and silly, but I'm not complaining because here in LA we have some real purty news gals (and guys).

How ironic that Mormons slut shame the reporter when they lead the nation in breast enhancement surgery.
