I have always felt like RfM is home....and I am nevermo!
Via a Google search, I came here to find a fact I needed, and I've been here ever since.
I enjoy some of the discussion here but wish there was something better. Perhaps a place where certain political discussion or points of view aren't deleted but rather those who can't handle political discourse and maintain a polite demeanor are. As we learn the truth and leave a strictly Mormon view of the world behind a void is created that we now seek to fill with new answers. This often leads us to explore the broader world which very much includes a political world view.
I like to lurk here, at all hours of the day and night. It's a relief for me to escape all the political debates among family members, the politics in the workplace, and old people yelling at the TV news for 5 hours every night. If you want politics, people, just turn on the TV.
RFM offers so much MORE!
I love the people on RFM, the sense of community, the sincere support, good advice, real empathy for others. You-all were too good for Mormonism!
RFM is good for the facts. Just ask, and ye shall receive, here. RFM is good for when you feel alone, misunderstood, and shunned. I owe so much of my recovery to RFM!
There are a number of exmo support options, and yes, some people post other places as well. I personally wouldn't call it a rivalry. Every board or group has the same mission, (to support exmos and those who are questioning,) just different ways of going about it.

Rivalry? There is no competition for the truth and lives for Good Times and neither is an exact copy of the other.
You will have to visit them both to have any kind of Truth at all.
I take it Pot Mormon is no longer out there? I just looked and it didnt come up. I liked that site as well but I havent been there or here in quite some time! Nice to be back~!
According to an internet search, "Unfortunately PostMormon.Org was hacked, so the website has been temporarily shut down." However, I first found that information months ago, and nothing has changed; so I do not know if the site will (pardon the term) "reactivate" at some point or not.
Maybe it's just the heat of the moment from the recent tragedy-suicide, but I was a bit shocked when reading some of responses about the typed note that was directed at BYU that is on the R site. Many of the responses appeared to be written by current students at the Y, and they seemed to be defending the (lack of or actions of) counselors. Some of them think that it's no biggie that there aren't enough counselors and it's a budget issue. Nothing more! That seems a bit too much trolling or apologizing for my taste. I like RFM better for my needs.

Don't want to derail, but I just wanted to say how nice it is to see you again, SpongeBob SquareGarments. I've always enjoyed your posts - and you have the coolest pseudonym ever :-D
