It has been reported from the media that Jimmy Osmond has suffered a stroke while performing in the UK. It apparently happened a couple of days ago. Here is wishing him a speedy recovery.

That family has had their share of trials just in the past 5-6 months. First Tom had a major heart attack, Merrill's son died and now Jimmy has a stroke. I believe Merrill's wife also had a stroke late last year.

Articles are saying that he "pushed through" that night's performance. Hopefully he got to the hospital in time to get the full benefit of his medications.

KSL, the local TV station/news here in SLC has run pieces about the whole Osmond family in the last few days. The first was about the main brothers group and what their lives are like now. There's only 2 left who perform, Merrell and Jay. Alan and Wayne are retired due to health issues.

Then they talked about Donny and Marie and their big show in Las Vegas. They play Tuesday through Saturday, Donny takes off in his jet to Provo to be with family and Marie stays in Las Vegas with hers.

And then they talked about Jimmy and how busy his life is. It apparently was written before this stroke.

I hope he receives the ultimate best treatment.

This is an issue I have personal interest in.

Mmmmm,
This isn't the first time he has had a stroke. He is young. His body is sending him warnings.

Sending him and his family best wishes

Yes. He had one around the age of 40

I was reading that one had something to do with his heart rather than his brain. He had a heart surgery to repair what was wrong that time.

He's 55 now. With the schedule he's been keeping, it may be time for him to take an early retirement if he can afford to.

I am somewhat acquainted with his daughter and relayed to her hopes for his recovery on her Facebook.

If you think you are having a stroke you should never delay treatment. The first hour or so is crucial to get the medication that you need. The show doesn't "always have to go on". I know of someone that knows a gal that was at the show he was doing when the stroke started. She said he looked awful. It's too bad the producers of the show didn't stop the performance and make him seek help immediately.

I was kind of floored when reading not only did he finish the show, he stayed afterwards signing autographs before going to the hospital to seek treatment.

That is just really dumb IMO.

Yes, it was not wise of him to wait. I'm sure that the production would have had an understudy for his part.

It would be wise for such productions to have a staff member in the audience with a radio to report, "Something's wrong."

And stop the show.
