I thought about General conference the whole time while watching this video on how to sound smart and deep while only saying gibberish. Those patterns are exactly what they do at General Conference.

It is a system of mass hypnosis calle "voice roll" in which the speech is slow,controlled, monotone,and,for the most part unemotional. It causes the listener to lean forward and exclude all sound that is not the speaker. It also implants into the response repertory motivation to act according to the speaker's input.
