She was in the kitchen and the dishwasher door was down.
The shoes she wore had strings. The end of one string flipped up and hung in one of the little horizontal air vents on dishwasher doors.
She broke her right hip and one finger on her right hand when she put it down to break her fall.
She's out of the acute care hospital where she had the surgery and is now in a Skilled Nursing Facility to learn to use a walker, etc.
She will probably be home and back on RfM next week with more hospital stories.

Yes, Cheryl does have spunk, and a positive attitude. She seems in good hands, and her using a walker is encouraging. The sooner she walks, the better!

I know how painful broken bones are. I know that hip pain is one of the worse, plus a broken finger too.
I hope her healing is fast and she gets home healthcare if needed

I'd rather have the broken finger though!

I don't think I'd choose either. The nerve pain could be just as bad in a finger break as a hip bone. And then there's the dexterity.

Ouch. I tend to leave my dishwasher door open as an air-dry rack. Will reconsider that.
