Plus, everyone is ambiguous about the "latter-day" crap nowadays anyway.

I don't think Nelson likes it much. May as well get rid of it. Jesus doesn't like it. Why should "latter-day saints" get equal billing with Jesus?

The new name is much better.

Jesus gets top billing. PLUS the message that is currently most important to him is also included in the name.

I don't think anyone can reasonably deny that this is the best idea that they've seen in the last 50 years or so.
