Oooh I hate Marriotts and I single handed moved all our conferences to Hiltons.

I haven’t looked at the website for a while but the Marriott in Colorado Springs had photoshopped a mountain behind their official hotel pictures, made me furious when I got there and there was no mountain.

The problem is people get attached to their points so it takes some convincing to make them change.

PS I always found an option to the M and better service and better food. :)

Oh, THAT "Big M". I thought you meant the other "Big M", and totally lost the mood once I saw you were talking about "Marriott".

I hear Marriott offers a wide variety of discrete, in-room TV programming to help restore your mood!

What's a Motel 6 cost now, like, 60 bucks a night?

Depends on what part of the country...Around $60 in North Carolina. Over $100 in San Francisco.

When I was 17 (1978) I went to California (from the Seattle area) with a couple buddies for 2 weeks. A Motel 6 was about $15, but they were always booked so we never stayed in one. Good times though!

I stay where ever I get the best cost to comfort ratio now days. I used to travel a lot for my work and stayed in Marriott Hotels all the time. I liked them. Just because Marriott is a mormon doesn't mean the corporation is.

People that say they boycott Marriott hotels because Marriott is a mormon are just nit picking in my opinion. The "I don't want my money used as his tithing" excuse is ridiculous. Do you really know where all your spent money goes? How many other corporations do things with money that you spend on their products that you wouldn't approve of? Not fair to single out one over others.

I used to go to the one in Santa Clara with my parents for my Dad's convention during the 1980s. It was across the street from their amusement park. If I didn't want to sit inside the trading/selling room, then I could wait in the room and watch cable tv. They had a nice indoor/outdoor pool, but I (wisely) had to accompanied by my Mom.

I don't remember it being overtly Mormon by any means. There was a cocktail bar on the way to the swimming pool and there was fresh coffee in the hallways. People could smoke in the foyers, but not in the main hall. There was a BoM and a Gideon bible in nightstand.

Only the first time did my TBM Mom insist that my Dad attend a ward in nearby Sunnyvale instead of going to the Sunday swap meet. They both returned rather annoyed. Mom said it the best. "That was a major waste of time. A very unfriendly ward. We're never going to do that again."

I've stayed at Marriott hundreds of times, and it's my preference to stay there. I like it. Don't care if they are Mormon, it's not like they send missionaries knocking.

Well if you're in need a some serious big M, I hear you just can't beat the Marriot brand of porn on demand.
