I lived in El Paso as a kid. My sister went back a little while ago, with her 6'6" son, and didn't even feel brave enough to get out of the car to take a picture of our old house - the neighborhood was that bad. Are some parts of El Paso still nice?

LOL! I'll pass this time. I swing one way, so I'd be a stick in the mud. Have a blast - some day I'll have my turn, though it won't be any time soon. :)
We saved for 4 years for this trip. My girlfriend sent us in 2015 to an all-inclusive resort there. We'd never had a trip like that since all of our vacations had been camping. (That was all we could afford.) And, we fell in love. It is definitely worth the years of saving. CheapCarribean.com
My brother in Madison, WI, reported a 40 acre grass fire behind his house a couple of weeks ago, then the temp went up in the 70s, over the weekend they got a couple of inches of snow.
Said they had all four seasons of weather in a couple of days time.

Just what I DID NOT need right now. I only planted seeds for my flowers. I hope they'll be okay. Supposedly it will melt by this afternoon so I can walk my dogs. It is just too depressing. I don't even want snow for Christmas next year. I've had it with snow. I think my age is showing!!
It's the driest place in Western WA, I live in a 'rain shadow' created by the Olympic Mountains. It's been pushing 70 lately, definitely close.
A one hour drive to Kingston Ferry + 30 minutes ferry ride puts me close to Seattle (there is now a direct passenger ferry to Seattle) where there's MLB, symphony, arts, etc etc etc.
Medical care here isn't up to Seattle convenience, but hey...
Just as Florida is referred to as "heaven's waiting room", Sequim is considered the PNW branch of that waiting room.
When my BIL was looking for a home there, he said there was always new inventory coming on the market daily. In the area where they live, they are considered the "kids" of the neighborhood because they're youngest ones there, early 60's.
