A lot of quarky posts on this thread.

In a quark of scientific fate, George Zweig independently came up with the idea that hadrons were made up of constituent particles in 1964 at the same time as Gell-Mann. Zweig called his "aces" which lost out to Gell-Mann's "quarks"

At first glance I thought "hadrons" may have been a misspelling.

Anyway, it's a pity Zweig got his ace kicked.

By the way, according to Gell-Mann, the word quark should be pronounced like "quork" (rhyming with cork rather than with mark).
I wonder if that will lead to a new sitcom called Quark and Mindy?

One could probably slow down a Pelosi video to make her pronunciation of cork sound like Gell-Mann's prefered "quork."

I need to go to quork. . . if I could just replace this quork.
