Nearly fell over reading this…

In today's L.A. Times Food section (p. 1), there's a write-up about "a culinary training program for inmates" at San Quentin State Prison. The program is called… get ready for it… "Quentin Cooks."

I am not kidding. It's a real thing. "Quentin Cooks seeks to give men the basic and advanced skills they'd need to land a job in a commercial kitchen."

I'll be laughing about this one all day.

I didn't get the joke. It must be a way-homer.

That's just funny!

I don't think it sounds like a joke. Inmates are learning new skills that can make them able to make an honest living one day. That's a good thing.

I don't think making crooks into bakers is what Mormonism is about.

They like to make the husbands of cooks into accomplices to their crooks the prophets.
