How black was Elijah?

Is it possible that Brother Joseph and others did not necessarily think he was not "black" enough to be cursed?

And I was told that Joseph himself ordained Elijah, well not so:
"In 1836, he was ordained to the Melchizedek Priesthood by Ambrose Palmer, washed and anointed in the Kirtland Temple, received his patriarchal blessing under the hands of Joseph Smith Sr., and was ordained a Seventy by Zebedee Coltrin. "

Yes, apparently he did not "look" very "black."

In my follow up on this, I read that the implication is that George F. Smith is the one who either turned against or was turned against Bro. Able, progressing from warmly welcoming Bro. Able as a 70 and confirming his priesthood authority, to many years later stating that Bro. Able's ordination and progress in the priesthood was a mistake.

In other words, racism took hold during that time period.

Racism in the church? Can't be, since we are ALL spirit children of what's his face, Elohim.

I'm a little skeptical of OPie. Never been here before and unloads on a topic near and dear to the heart of a recent recidivist and who incidentally wrote some manuscripts on the topic.

I look forward to seeing where this goes.
