For some reason Adam and Eve did what Satan wanted and took wardrobe advice from him so God wouldn't see them naked. Why? You don't want your parent to see you naked when you are a grown ass adult walking around with your significant other, duh!

So in conclusion get your dress and grooming advice from God. You don't want to wilt or give Satan any real power. Besides just wearing an apron isn't very modest.

I think it isn't necessarily learned. I think it has to do with personality, too. I like to be dressed. I like long sleeves, long pants. My son does, too, as does my brother. My little sister, the less clothing the better. My daughter, and it has to be difficult to be a TBM now, liked to skinny dip and STREAK. My ex loves nude beaches and would love to go naked. My boyfriend prefers being naked. He streaked in college quite often and he like nude beaches, too.

And me . . . I must be of satan. Well, at least the mormons think I am.

to nudists, 'naked' suggests being more vulnerable than being nude.

I have also thought that some nudists might like being naked, because it symbolizes a classless society. Clothing, expensive clothing especially, has a way of creating separation between the haves and the have nots.

I'm not sure it is all "naturally beautiful", as my limited experience with nudists suggests that they are usually the type of people I would prefer to see clothed.

I for one love being nude... I go to the nude beaches and nude hiking areas... I enjoy walking around the house naked... can't do it in the back yard as the neighbors house is elevated and they can see in backyard... they have small children... the couple that lived there before them... if they were offended could close the blinds... It is liberating and freedom especially swimming in the ocean!

Totally agree. I have yet to try the ocean.

I also like being naked, especially to sleep. I've also swum in a lake naked which was fun. One of these days, I want to visit a nude beach so I can swim in the ocean naked.

I did that for the first time a couple of weekends ago. It was great. I too want to visit a nude beach in the nude. On my mission many beaches were nude beaches. I just wasn't nude.

I suspect that there are many of us here who are totally naked under the layers of clothing.

And one or two here who never will be.

My father taught me that nudity is a sin. He tried to fig leaf my mind, and he succeeded to a large degree. When I first attempted sex, I was unable to perform. I had a psychological problem that took some working out. I had a patient partner, and she helped me recover. In gratitude, I married her. We lasted about 4 years.

One of the reasons for my anger with Mormonism is that they cause problems where none would have existed without their meddling. They attempt to kill parts of our minds in order to rule the ragged remnants. It's not just aggression, it's selective murder. Parts of who we are get "snipped off" as one evil Mormon leader said. He recommended the removal and discarding of the bad parts of our personalities. Those are the parts which conflict with obedience, which is defined by tithing payments, at the end of the day.

Not for me! I burn easily and biting insects adore me. Also I'm not really sure people want to see my dad bod.

I don't have so much of an issue with skinny dipping. I'm not a keen swimmer but most bathing suits cover very little flesh anyway.

I've only fairly recently been into nudism. What I've found is how parochial it is. Tone, fit, and young bodies are noticed but that doesn't change with clothing on. We human I think are naturally inclined to be around each other nearly naked.

If we only chose clothes for protection and hygiene we would have invented things that were super sheer in the summer and good wind blocking in the winter.

Our bodies like to breath more than we allow them to.

My family are naturists. We all have different bodies. But we are proud of our bodies. I know there are Mormon naturists - we used to be some. But the church is down on it.

Nudity isn't sexual. That is a lie the puritans made up to control people's sexuality. You can have sex with clothes on. Find someone sexy clothed. In many cultures, like the Amazon, people walk around nude all the time. They aren't "sexual" all the time. They are unclothed when they gather food, cook, you name it.

Completely true, but it is out there, as are jagged rocks, spiky plants etc. You have to be very careful how you walk, or at least toughen your feet when you don't wear shoes.

I've been attempting to go barefoot as much as humanly possible in my society and I've noticed how much tougher my feet are. I really think the feet are appendages with a huge need to breath.

And being very careful how you walk sounds like a really good idea. I think we take it so much so for granted that we do it poorly. Connecting your feet to the ground gives you an education about your posture.

That 5,000 year old (iirc) body that melted out of a glacier in Switzerland a few years ago had shoes on. Humans figured out a very long time ago that foot protection was worth the bother.

We put curtains on what naturally is beautiful. Nothing is sexier than someone comfortable in their own skin only.

I find it interesting that we are often so disconnected with our bodies that we prefer to live in our minds. We use our bodies only to carry them around like an adorned litter carries around a god.
