This is very disturbing. It reminds me of the vice episode about the abuse in West Virginia where the lawyer reported that he's gone against Kirkon and McKonkie for over 100 cases for abuse and that the church is spending embarassing amounts of money hiding things and making hush payments etc.

There seriously needs to be disclosure to the public about all of this.

The church is spending embarrassing amounts of money to KEEP the public from finding out about all the complaints.

The church pays off so big that the victims are willing to sign the non-disclosure agreements, NDA. Upon payment, the claim is dropped. If a lawsuit was filed, the plaintiff(s) dismiss it, with prejudice (meaning it can't be refiled). The NDA forbids the plaintiffs and their attorneys from disclosing any details about the complaint or the settlement.

If you read my fictional story, it'll give you an idea as to how they operate. The facts are fiction, but the technique is textbook.
