The Book of Mormon is not on the list
http://www.butler-bowdon.com/50-spiritual-classics.html

Number 3 is Jonathan Livingston Seagull. That one broke publishing records.

This is one man's list. Hardly a consensus of scholars or sages. I'm surprised that Augustine's Confessions is on it. For CS Lewis, he chose Screwtape Letters, but not Mere Christianity, or A Grief Observed, Or Surprised By Joy? No Luther, Calvin, Spurgeon, or Dwight Moody?

A hodgepodge of mostly alternative "spiritualities." Plenty for anybody to cobble together his/hers/ a belief system of one's very own. To his credit he excluded Dianetics and Eddy's Science & Health. Likewise, no Urantia or "Course in Miracles," with or without Marianne Williamson.

Ah, Christ-free spirituality. How liberating!

but had apparently separated himself from it when he wrote Jonathan Livingston Seagull. My Christian Science mother loved the book.

Where does the Book of Mormon rank in a consensus of scholars or sages?

You’re confusing spirituality with religion. There is very little connection.

I'm amazed anyone still reads that Seagull book. The movie is even worse.

I've read a few, but, the Movie "Bernadette's Feast" beats them all by a thousand miles. No. Not kidding.

Best movie for an exMo ever.

I couldn't find a movie called "Bernadette's Feast". I did find a "Babette's Feast" though. Is that the one?

Haha. Thanks. That is the one. I keep seeing these ads for "Where'd you go Bernadette" and I think it got stuck in my mind.

"Babette's Feast." Starts slow but builds brilliantly. Made every ten best list ever. Turns strict religion on its head.

It's not on Netflix, Amazon or Hulu. Dang it!

This new streaming channel is better than all the rest put together:

And D&D is exactly right, Babette’s Feast is one of the best films ever made.
