I am at the Renaissance Marriott Hotel in Orlando and they are not only a Bible but a Book of Mormon as well in the bed side table.
This is the first time in a couple of years that I have stayed at a Marriott Hotel but never seen a BOM in one before.

Has this become the now norm for the Marriott chain?

It's been the norm for 70 years.

I believe some Marriotts are franchise operations, perhaps some company properties.

IDK if the placement is a condition of the franchise or not, Who Cares???

"exmormon.org" and "cesletter.org" in the title page.

Handy if you can’t fall asleep because you forgot your melatonin. Just start reading the chloroform in print and you will fall asleep in no time.

I've never stayed in a Marriott. I've been to a trade fair in one -that's about it. Do the places have minibars and porn channels as well? I can imagine many things have happened in Marriott hotels that are not very "Mormon".

Up until a few years ago, Marriott hotels were the #1 provider of in-room porn. They also have mini-bars and sold a lot of booze. Newer hotels, like Marriott Courtyards, Hilton's TRU, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn expresses, etc. don't have mini bars.

I wouldn’t stay in one for this reason.

My therapist recently commented on her extended family staying in Marriott hotels. They have some timeshare thing with them. She said it was very obviously mormon from all the family and church photographs, yet never commented on the books of mormon; so perhaps these go unnoticed by some people. I’ve always heard it is standard procedure for the Book of Mormon being left in all the rooms.

He almost always stayed in a Marriott. When we'd talk on the phone at night, he would often start reading something out of the BofM just to be funny. He has read the BofM. When he first came to Utah to work back in the 1970s, he thought he should know what he was up against, especially given his family has mormon ancestors and a few of his sisters have been baptized, but are no longer active mormon. He knows the BofM better than I do by far. He often will tell me to ask my daughter something to see how good she knows the BofM.

I once provided a list of...er...additional resources on one of the blank pages. That was several years ago, I haven't stayed at a Marriott since--not really because of the Mormonism but it just hasn't been the top of my list for the places I've been going in recent years.
