This is his response about what the church teaches about the spirit world. He says that "...some repentance is possible."

So if very few dead people are going to change and accept the [mormon gospel] then why state that repentance is negligible, almost non-existent. That completely nullifies the big mormon idea that temple work is so essential and people WILL accept the gospel and repent. What is the point if the church leaders now say/infer that repentance/change is NOT likely too occur after death.

Does anybody with a thinking cap read these bozos' talks before they embarrass themselves?

So non-mormons in the telestial kingdumb can repent to become mormons and get promoted to celestial kingdumb ?

Will Oaks tell us where he is getting his information ?

Was it Oaks who had a GC talk about the dynamics (for lack of a better word) of the spirit world? This is a matter of some intellectual interest to me. I'd appreciate it if you can locate a link. Thanks!

Actually, the Book of Mormon clearly says that there is NO opportunity for you to repent after death:

Alma 34:32-35 says that those who do not repent before death are eternally lost: "...that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world... ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his,... and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked." (See also 2 Ne 9:38 and Mosiah 2:36-39)

The Book of Mormon also says polygamy is wrong. Of course the Mormons ignored their own book of scripture.

Save to say the church doesn’t alway follow it’s own canon on things.

And that the Father, Son, and Holy the Ghost are literally one god. Later in the book, it changes.

There is their canon and then there is their fodder in heaven. Let 'em all die, temple process 'em and let Elohim sort 'em out.

Oaks... is beginning to remind me of POTUS.

I seriously believe his grasp on reality isn't as good as mine, regardless of his advanced degrees, legal history.
unfortunately, I see this same arrogance in some SCOTUS judges.

Our society is sick when people like Oaks are leaders/ appreciated / venerated.

He's obviously, plainly on a EGO TRip.

How about the deal that people needed to come to earth to get a body before they could really things ......but some how people many people are earth just can not see how the MORmON church is the greatest thing ever. SO what do MORmONS say? -just wait until you die and get to the other side, then you will be sorry as you finally see the truth. .....sooooo when is it that a person is most capable of seeing and realizing the truth ?? in this life which was a must for further and better learning according to MORmON doctUrine, or back on the other side???

Oaks was just hoping to change the rules because this repentance thing the church used to espouse, where your sins are washed away, just doesn't work for him personally. He wants to punish. He wants to see anyone who didn't pay him enough respect be forced to weep and wail and gnash their teeth.

They were disappointed at Guantanamo Bay that they couldn't secure his services.
