President Nelson is constantly going on about tithing. The new emphasis has driven so many away from the church. Does anyone find it suspicious, he never reveals his!
Is there anyway, the President or the 70 could be forced to
reveal tithing records?

So that's why some Mo's aspire to GA-hood!!!!! It's not spirituality, it's about $$$.

This is just a sampler:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tithing_(Latter_Day_Saints)

It doesn't mention the issue of the 12 apostles and the 1st Prez trio voting to exempt themselves from tithing.

So again, mormon ghawd comes across as confused and capricious. What a shocker!

He was inactive or a part-time member until he was 16 or 17 (priest age).

Nelson is a paid minister, exempt from tithing, and yet has the nerve to tell some of the poorest people in the world to pay up. Prophet=profit.

The quickest way to create entitlement and alienation in leaders is to exempt them from things their followers are subjected to without that exemption being obvious in giving them more effectivity to lead.

Mormonism's playbook was doctrine and covenants. Now it is policies and press releases.

Like the Second Anointing. Being assured of godhood, irrespective of any crimes committed or suffering caused (looking at you, Cook) would tend to make someone feel rather entitled.

TBH, the tithing exemption doesn't bother me all that much. These guys set their own pay. All they'd have to do is raise their gross by 11.1%, then deduct the 10%. Just moving the money from one pocket to another, no difference at all to them.

IT isn't the money. It is the duty.

Spouse was in a fairly high position in a church owned company. All the upper management got a 10-20% bonus every year. I would not be surprised if GAs got the same. Last check of the year 10% bonus and 10% for tithes........

It's kind of like using other people's tithing to give extra money to church employees so they can pay their tithing, without really paying tithing.

They don't pay on a paycheck by paycheck basis, and so become comfortable living at a certain pay scale, and then at the end of the year, there's the 20% bonus, half of which goes to pay the theoretical tithing owed, but there's no pain! "Here, pay your tithing and have fun with the other 10%. Jesus loves you!"

Man oh man, mormon ghawd is one shifty son of a bitch! And yes, I do kiss Saucie with this mouth...

And Thank God he does. It's a religious experience.

I haven't noticed nelson talking about tithing. Is this at Conference or at local meetings. It's not been in the Ensign either. the focus there this month is "depression and mental illness" because mormons have so much of that.

He mentioned it on his African trip, because as you know, tithing alleviates poverty.

“the focus there this month is "depression and mental illness"“

The obvious cure is more Mormonism.

Why doesn't somebody ask him where he followed the prophet and served a full time mission?

God has other plans for some prophets, apostles, sports stars, music stars etc.

From Wikipedia

"Emphasized tithing in the 1900s and 1960s to assist in paying church debt".

In 2019, they emphasized tithing to make more money. It is greed pure and simple.

When all is revealed, we may learn that Jesus was able to dismiss His own debts, if willing to die for rapists, etc.

Tithe-free for eternity is a mighty fine lure.
