Reading other articles posted that I've seen on the topic, BYU has changed nothing but the wording. Students, thinking that they can now hold hands with their partners have been told that the "moral code" still exists.
Basically, the church wants to look good, but still have the ability to punish those they disagree with. All they've done is made people confused and upset more.

done is change the wording on anything and everything gay. 1983 is when I found myself facing the church's teachings about gays. Before that, I didn't think there were any mormons who were gay. I know. I was extremely naive.
