My wife met with her bishop (Bob...I'm not going to continue referring to him as "Bishop") last Sunday, and Bob told her much the same. He and Justin are probably reading from the same script.
Bob said that Russ's move months ago to shorten Sunday meetings and to promote home study was in response to a revelation of this current pandemic.
Mormons can spin literally anything into a faith-promoting context. If all of the Q15 died together in a plane crash, TBMs would say that god called them home to do mighty missionary work behind the veil that only they could perform, and that the brand-new younger generation of leaders have been perfectly trained and placed to bring the church into a new golden age of revelation and growth.

These are bricks made in Nauvoo, Illinois 180 years ago. They are the bricks of a crazy cult with a militia, multiple "wives", and aspirations to make their prophet a POTUS.
The same thing is filling up my FB posts. Nelson said to take your vitamins and eat your vegetables in regard to April 2020 conference being something big, so now, of course, it meant this pandemic, not hyperbole about the first vision bicentenial. The whole home study thing, too. If that is the goal here, just sell all the meeting houses! What do you need them for?
By little things like viruses great things are done. Elohim and Jehovah are so humble they don't want a special conference for their "first" visit anniversary.
Isn’t it amazing how not one of those Pharisees can’t find the courage and power to go out and heal the sick? After all, they have the priesthood power...not.
