Does Jesus have extra gravitational pull that would disrupt the normal tectonic plate movement? Is there some sort of sympathetic heat exchange between the heavens and the earth's core? How would it happen?

The more I write, the more this sounds like something medieval monks would debate.

Inquiring minds want to know.

What I like about earthquakes is that if you survive, you get to talk about what a wild ass ride it was!

I have this recollection from the SoCal Northridge earthquake: The LA Times front page, above the fold, photo of the freeway transition lane that came to a sudden end, as in empty space, because a span had collapsed. It was of interest because the span had collapsed as an LAPD motor officer was approaching it and witnesses watched him sail out into the void, where Jesus did NOT a catch him.

I get extremely fatalistic while enduring the shaking and then when it's over I grin a lot and tell Saucie not to be a big baby and to get off my shoulders...

Except that isn't what is described in the BOM. You just made that up.

I think that is just Jesus' temperament shining through. He's always been sort of dramatic guy, with the miracle, fish, water, healing, temple outburst. Then there was the earthquake in the BOM at his crucifixion. I am just sayin' - he likes to make an entrance. And really that's fine, if that's the way you roll - good for you Jesus. Who am I to critique Jesus...he's a mover and a shaker. One in every crowd folks.

Moving from The Old World to the New world in the blink of an eye unleashed a lot of energy. It wasn't his fault. What was he going to do? Take a barge instead of descending in a beam of light?

Is Mr. Jesus an "As I have loved you" guy or a "death by earthquake & fire" guy? Seems like only in the scriptures can he have it both ways.

Maybe Jesus is just really, really fat.

He was spiritual and now he has a physical body. Regardless of how fat he might be after thousands of years of eating his bread of life (and being eaten by others) that body has mass and that takes energy to move. When Jesus dances maybe he moves the earth? He was supposed to have created it, the earth not dances.
