Could be true? I figure there is about as much evidence for giants as there is for bigfoot, neanderthals, big bang, or the out of Africa theory. There are many stories to choose from. They are all about the same.

These conditions are real and those who suffer from them deserve respect and consideration.

I had brain surgery decades ago and since then I get blood tests regularly to check on excessive growth hormone which would be best if it were zero, but of course it never is.

These pituitary diseases are rare which doesn't mean they are laughable. They're serious. I see other patients with these diseases whenever I go for testing and wait for my endocrinologist appointments.

I must inform healthcare workers about my condition whenever I go for any kind of treatment. They are not educated about rare diseases. It isn't easy.

Those with giantism and other rare related disorders do not deserve to be demeaned or denied normal consideration.

You are taking this out of context. I'm talking about crazy, wacky nonsense like Mormons believing in the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel, giants at the North Pole, a hollow Earth, and so on.

Wrong, Cheryl. I challenge you to show us any comment where Lot’s Wife demonstrates a single one of those attitudes. You won’t find one.

She called me a racist and a xenophobe in the past. I have never done or said anything in my life or on RfM which indicates such a thing.

She said it based on zero evidence. I think it might be that I tried to point out that though her politics had merit, others might see things differently which was their right and they don't deserve to chased off the board because of it. Politics evolves. There's no one true politics on earth or on RfM.

Perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps that isn't why she called me those most vicious and hateful words. I'll never know because she never explained, just plucked the words out of thin air and expected me to try to prove her wrong.

I don't like being called names that have no basis in reality. And I don't like being demeaned because of my medical problems and the rarity of some of my diseases.

And the way to consider the veracity of the proposition is to ask whether there is evidence to support it. We are talking about 3,000 BCE for the Hebrew stories and a few millennia earlier for Mesopotamia. If the stories are true, there should be skeletons and the remains of very large domiciles.

When we say, "there were giants in those days," we mean it metaphorically. As to the subject of rock and roll history, for instance. Example: "Remember the seventies and the great guitarist/songwriters like Carlos Santana and Jerry Garcia? There were giants in those days."

Goliath was a conceptual giant in the Bible. He was the opponent that David had to overcome to secure Israel. Perhaps he represented the general opposition to Judaism.
